1. We’ve operated for 7+ years on state and federal funds by offering voluntary mentoring to participants who choose their mentors – because we use Charitable Choice properly.

2. Some mentors are NOT faith-based, but serve in community social service programs, e.g. Mers – Goodwill for Adult Worker Support under WIA funds with our WIB.

3. However, we do work with 70+ different faiths, including Muslim, Jewish, and nearly every Christian congregation, including non-denominational congregations.

4. We work with 30 or more community organizations in various communities within a nearly 100 mile radius of Cape Girardeau .

5. We work with community leaders in Branson, Caruthersville, Clarkton, Charleston , Kennett, Fredericktown, Farmington , etc. trying to revitalize communities to serve our participants by building leadership and community development through the support of Lincoln University ’s Outreach program.

6. We have created and operated social service, gap-filling efforts that meet the previous unmet needs of our participants.Some examples are: the furniture program that supports needs of 30 to 40 families each month, the vehicle program that provides donated vehicles to 30 to 40 families per year, the significant financial education programs we have generated in multiple communities using the Ron Blue Master Your Money program, The Federal Reserve Bank’s Money Smart Program, and Crown Financial’s Make Your Money Work program – all significant financial education NOT just budget programs.

7. The vehicle program operates on it’s own with an annual budget of about $140,000.008. We have donations of support, office, utilities, purchase of our training and support that total nearly

$40,000.00 per year in value and cash donations.9. During the past year, we generated over $3 million in benefits to participants and communities we

served. For instance we linked job training and, subsequently, Carpenter’s apprentice training, with a $2 million, competitive rehab of 48 affordable apartments set to be condemned by the City of Cape. This does not count the unmeasured support of congregations, which provide significant needs for their participants.

10. We have over 800 trained mentors using our edited and improved version of Putting Family First Foundation’s team mentoring training.

11. We’ve incorporated an objective scoring mechanism from Michigan, intake forms from St. Louis University, and Sierra Software online tracking tools we make available with security access codes to members and partners, should mentors want to electronically track their participants’ progress.

12. Project HOPE was instrumental in bringing MO Share Network into our state and we also were the reason the recent inclusion of nearly 10,000 providers when we suggested linking the soon-to-be closed, Missouri University Community Connections site with The Share Network. This will allow access to community resources and referrals plus access to employment opportunities and support for literally thousands of mo workers each year, if not each month.

13. We have mentors working in other countries, such as Rwanda, where they mentor people who come home to be re-patriated after leaving to save their lives. Many of these people have lost their entire families and have no other way to learn about how to successfully live this life!

14. Our affordable, zero-energy housing with mentoring to help people get into home ownership or market-value rental by being mentored over a long-term so they can achieve their life plan is a unique, holistic approach that brings community support programs together with the faith community to provide long-term support through mentoring within their outreach ministry’s existing work.

15. PH has been a major part of developing and promoting nearly all the new, innovative and cooperative community efforts started in Cape over the past 7 years to address unmet needs, e.g. LAN, Love INC, The housing committee, the furniture program, the car program, etc.
