• Doors to the Main House will remain open throughout theperformance and customers are free to come and go as they please.
• There will be a quiet area away from the auditorium which anymember of staff can direct you to.
• Throughout the performance of Robin Hood thehouselights in the Main House will remain on, albeit at a lower level than normal.
• There is live music played throughout the performance. Themusicians are in the orchestra pit in front of the stage.
• The show is quite noisy, and even though we have reduced thesound a lot there may be one or two points in the show where there may be a louder bang or crash.
• Please also be aware that due to the nature of this performance there may be loud noises that come from other customers.
• The first act is approximately 1 hour and 7 minutes. There will be a twenty minute interval and the second act is approximately 51 minutes long.
• Bar bells and spoken announcements will give warnings that theperformance is about to start. There will be an introduction to the cast before the performance begins.
• The cast do talk directly to the audience. No one is asked to goonstage and no one will be embarrassed.
• At various points during the performance characters enter from the auditorium.
• The pantomime merchandise normally consists of flashing toys.These will not be on sale at the relaxed performance.

ABOUT THE THEATREWhere is the theatre?
Salisbury Playhouse is on Malthouse Lane which is off ofFisherton Street in Salisbury. The area is served by good
public transport links with the central car park behind thetheatre and accessible parking bays outside the front entrance.
ON YOUR ARRIVAL
Salisbury Playhouse has two main entrances that are bothautomatic doors.

THE FOYER
If you use the main entrance you find yourself in the foyer, ifyou use the automatic door you can make your way past the
coffee lounge through to the foyer where you will find the bar,ticket office and toilets.
Sometimes the foyer can be quite busy before a performance while people wait to go into the theatre.

We have accessible toilets available downstairs. Gentlemenand an accessible toilet to the left of the bar and ladies to theright. We also have an extra enhanced toilet downstairs near
the lift.

If you want to buy drinks or snacks you can buy them from thebar.

COLLECTING TICKETS
ASKING FOR HELP
If you are going to see a performance you might need to collect your ticket. To do this, go to the Ticket Office and a member of staff will help you.
If you need any help, please ask any member of staff who canbe identified by a badge or during relaxed performances they
will be wearing an orange sash.
They are very friendly and can help if you are worried or haveany questions.
WHAT TO EXPECT INTHE THEATRES
Your seat number will be on your ticket and an usher willshow you to your seat.
When the performance is going to start the lights will dimslowly and the theatre will be slightly darker than when you
arrived.
When everyone is ready the actors will come out onto thestage and the performance will begin.
During the play you might feel happy or sad. It is ok to laugh and boo or feel sad if you want to.
If you would like to take some time out during the performanceyou may leave at any time and find a seat in the foyer until
you are ready to go back in.
There is an interval. This is so actors and the audiencecan have a rest. The interval normally lasts 20 minutes. The
lights will get a little brighter and you can get a drink or go tothe toilet if you want to.
You will know the play is starting again because the bell willgo and the lights will dim slightly.
You will know it is the end of the performance because theactors will take a bow. Everyone will clap their hands to show
the actors that they enjoyed the play.

BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE PERFORMANCES(an interpreter stands at the edge of the stage)
AUDIO DESCRIBED PERFORMANCES(a live narrator describes the action on the stage between the
dialogue, via headphones)
TOUCH TOURS(accompanying audio described performances, designed for
blind or partially sighted audience members)
RELAXED PERFORMANCES(aimed at anyone who would benefit from a laid back
environment, including young children who may be afraid ofthe dark or those on the autistic spectrum.
