Conferences and Seminars:Conferences and seminars focus on enhancing management and leadership practices. These symposiums provide for the exchange of current knowledge, resources and best practices from around the world that are relevant to strengthening human resource and institutional capacities for sustainable development. The principal aim is to provide a platform for management practitioners to share experiences and best practices in the management of organizations. They bring together a wide audience of management practitioners, policy and decision makers and other stakeholders, including development partners and academicians, to collaboratively deliberate on defined topics.

Study ToursACADRI organizes and co-ordinates study tours for both public and private organisations. The underlying objective of such study visits is for our participants to network, share experiences and benchmark best practices from the visited institutions or people.

ResearchACADRI research initiatives aim at developing and sharing research knowledge with the public and policy makers so that they can make rational informed decisions on vital policy issues, government programs, environment, healthcare, crime and public infrastructure. We do this by bringing together an interdisciplinary research team and employing robust statistical analysis. A number of development partners and other stakeholders require projects/programmes to provide annual progress reports, including financial information, and the general information on how the project is progressing towards the set objectives in the performance measurement plan. ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL SAFEGUARDS FOR DONOR FUNDED PROJECTS

Course Overview Environmental and social sustainability, including climate change resilience, is fundamental to the achievement of development outcomes and must be systematically mainstreamed into development programs. Environmental and social screening and assessment processes for projects have now become standard practice in development cooperation and are usually required by national regulatory frameworks and multilateral and bilateral donors.

There is therefore need to strengthen environmental and social sustainability, including climate resilience. Potential adverse impacts and risks need to be avoided or minimized, and where possible mitigated. Governments need to demonstrate to Development Partners and stakeholders that we have the appropriate safeguard measures in place for managing donor funded projects. Objectives By the end of the training participants should be able to; • Enhance the environmental and social

sustainability of a proposed project by analyzing the environmental and social benefits and costs of the project

• Identify and manage environmental social risks that could be associated with a proposed project by screening the possible environmental and social costs of an intervention
