About the Artists: Jacqueline Leung, Pianist: Born in Hong Kong, Jacqueline Leung’s performances have been heard in venues across the globe including Austria, Belgium, China, England, Hungary, Italy, Poland and the USA. Jacqueline has received numerous awards, including two consecutive Vicars Close prizes from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools for Music and a “highly commended” honour in both the Helen Eames Piano Prize and Christian Carpenter Recital Prize. She also won the concerto competition at Wells Cathedral School to perform the Saint- Saens Piano Concerto No. 2 under the baton of Christopher Adey. Jacqueline Leung held the position as Music Director of Diocesan Girls’ School during 2008-09 and led a busy conducting schedule of multi-prize winning choirs and orchestras. She is currently the chairperson of the Royal Academy of Music HK Alumni Association. Timothy Sun, Saxophonist: Macau born Saxophonist Timothy Sun began his music career at the age of 7 as a Violin player. In 1997, Timothy went to England and continued his study at the Ellen Wilkinson High School of Art, where he studied saxophone and clarinet with George Galway. In 2001, he became the first Chinese Saxophone and Clarinet student of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with full sponsorship from the UK’s Department for Education and Employment.

Timothy is now a freelance saxophonist with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Macau Orchestra.

Jacqueline and Timothy have performed as a duo at the Macau Conservatory, the Sound of Art Series at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, and will record their tango program for RTHK Radio 4 this month. They look forward to be featured at the annual City Festival on 21 & 22nd January 2011, by invitation from HK Fringe Club.
