Market Leadership & Capacity SABMiller India leads in both strong and mild beer segment with a market share of 40% and 30% respectively. Royal Challenge Premium Lager is growing more than twice the rate of the mild beer industry. Foster’s constitutes 85% share in the premium beer category and has grown by more than 45% in 2007-08.The ethos of quality reflects in the fact that the company plans an investment of US $500 million to modernize and double the capacity over a period of next five years. With 10 high quality breweries located strategically across 9 states in India, SABMiller India is well placed to service the markets quickly and efficiently with a dedicated workforce of over 3500 people. The company’s brewery in Andhra Pradesh is India’s first brewery to have more than 100 million liter capacity, which is twice the size of the second largest brewery in India.The wide sales and distribution network covering every single state in India, ensures that the company meets the expectations of the trade and consumers. This project assists the farmers and local community in maximizing land use and securing good income. It has now grown to 12 Centers in 4 districts of Rajasthan with membership of over 6000 farmers. SABMiller India plans to continue to work on creating a national footprint for its brands (both in terms of quality and content) by modernizing and improving efficiencies of plants, introducing new technologies, improving brand performance in the key bear markets and make forays into newer territories.
