FINLEY Leverages Intelligent 3D Models from Design to Construction

When FINLEY and the Community/Condotte/de Moya Joint Venture P3 team began work on the Palmetto Section 5 project, they quickly realized their experience in design-build would be an advantage. Using Bentley’s civil and bridge design solution, the ProjectWise-empowered team benefi ted from the rich information of intelligent 3D models at every stage of the project. FINLEY rapidly deployed the project team and empowered them to do their best work to make the project a huge success. The result was reduced design time, fewer costly errors in the fi eld, and a better-built asset.

variances in traditional geometric designs elements documented in the AASHTO Green Book. These evolving needs of transportation agencies seeking to develop and deploy Transportation Systems Manage-ment and Operations (TSM&O) strategies will likely affect traditional design standards. The purpose of this workshop is to gather input from Operations profes-sionals regarding what topics should be included in an Operations Guide that addresses these issues, what needs there are for such an Operations Guide, and what research is needed to be done to develop such a guide. The results of the workshop will guide the development of an annotate outline and roadmap for the development of an Operations Guide.
