1. Highlights of the month of Mar, 2019.

1.1 Progress during the month has been adversely affected due to continuous rainfall

2. Important achievements during the month

2.1 Earth Work:

2.1.1 Earth work and protection work is in progress in Sangaldan station yard, out of

23,60,000 Cum of total quantity 22,67,183 Cum has been done so far.

2.1.2 Earthwork for excavation of Bridges foundation is in progress for Katra

Banihal section, out of 16,38,639 cum quantity (i.e. except Chenab bridge)

13,81,370 cum has been completed.

2.1.3 Earthwork for excavation of Chenab Bridge foundations & slope

protection is in progress, out of 10,08,545 cum quantity 9,75,697 has

been completed (i.e. 97% completed).

2.2 Tunneling

Ballast-less Track (BLT)

2.2.1 Tender for design of Broad Gauge BLT (Ballast less track) including supply,

installation, testing and commissioning between Banihal - Arpinchalla (Approx.

16 Km.) was opened on 26.03.2019 and finalization is under progress.

2.2.2 Tender for design of Broad Gauge BLT (Ballast less track) including supply,

installation, testing and commissioning between Km. 25.00 to Km. 70.742 and

Km. 92.398 to Km. 101.632 on Katra-Dharam Section of USBRL was invited by

M/s KRCL on 22.02.2019 and is to be opened on 22.04.2019.

2.3 Bridges

Progress of bridges between Katra- Banihal section has been shown in Table 3.

2.4 Miscellaneous:

2.4.1 ESP of Kata Banihal Section:

a) ESP of Sumber and Arpinchala have been approved on 28.12.2018.

b) ESP of Sangaldan, Basindadhar and Salal-A have been approved on 25.02.2019.

c) ESP of Reasi has been approved by Ferozepur division and submitted at

HQ/Baroda House on 30.01.2019.

d) ESP of Dugga has been approved by Ferozepur division and submitted at

HQ/Baroda House on 26.03.2019.

2.4.2 Tender for Transportation of DEMU Power and Trailer Coaches 17 no’s and

Two WDS6 Locos by Road, duly conducting feasibility study, from Udhampur

Railway Station to Budgam Railway Station has been awarded to SAAR Frights

Corporation on 12.01.2019.

2.4.3 E&M (Electro and Mechanical Works) for Tunnels:

a) Tender for Integrated Sub-Station (ISS) at Sangaldan is awarded to M/S

Hightech Erectors Pvt. Ltd. on 25.03.2019.

b) Tender for Integrated Sub-Station (ISS) at Reasi is under finalization.

c) E&M Tender for package-I (tunnel No-6 to T-12) has been opened on

26.02.2019 and tender is under evaluation.

2.5 Chenab Bridge

2.7 Tender Invited/Under Finalisation/Under process

2.7.1 Tender for design of Broad Gauge BLT (Ballast less track) including supply,

installation, testing and commissioning between Banihal - Arpinchalla (Approx.

16 Km.) was invited by M/s IROCN on 12/02/2019 and was opened on

26.03.2019 and finalization is under progress.

2.7.2 Tender for design of Broad Gauge BLT (Ballast less track) including supply,

installation, testing and commissioning between Km. 25.00 to Km. 70.742 and

Km. 92.398 to Km. 101.632 on Katra-Dharam Section of USBRL was invited by

2.7.3 Tender for Manufacture, Supply, Transportation and delivery of prime quality

of UIC 60 Kg 1080 Grade Head Hardened Class A Rails as per Indian Railway

Standard Specification for Flat Bottom Rails IRS-T-12-2009 (With latest A&C

Slips) at Banihal site for Katra-Banihal section of USBRL Project in J&K, India was

awarded to M/S Voestalpine Schienen, GmbH on 26.03.2019.

2.7.4 Financial Bid for the Tender for “Construction of prposed all buildings

including station building, RPF & GRP Posts, RPF Barrack & GRP Barracks,

Equipment Control Rooms for Tunnels, 33 KV Switch Yard, Electrical Sub-

Station (ESS), Portal Sub Stations for Arpinchala Station Yard of USBRL Project

has been finalized and awarded to M/s N.S. Associates Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi on

14.02.2019.

3. Katra-Banihal Section (Progress in Details)

3.1 For construction convenience and monitoring, this section has been divided into

following legs:

A. Katra – Banganga (km. 25 - 30): Executed by Northern Railway and works are

completed.

B. Km. 30 - 100 (KRCL, except 73.78 to 91 as transferred to IRCON): Progress

of underground excavation for various tunnels being executed by KRCL are

shown in Table 1.

C. Km 100 – 136: Executed by M/s IRCON. Progress of underground excavation

for various tunnels being executed by IRCON are shown in Table 2.

3.2 Chenab Bridge, Br. No. 44 (KRCL)

Chenab Bridge has been divided in four parts for construction point of view, these

are

A. Construction of Arch Portion (S-10 to S-70)

B. Construction of Viaduct Portion (S-70 to S-180)

C. Slope Stabilization - Bakkal end and

D. Slope Stabilization - Kauri end

A. Progress on Arch Portion (S10 to S70) :

a. Progress of the Arch:

(i) RCC work: Concreting of S10 (Except 234 Cum), S20, S30, S40, S50, S60

and S70 (Except Pier Cap) has been completed.

(ii) Workshop: Main span deck fabrication at S180 & Bakkal is under progress.

Arch fabrication work at wheels India Ltd., Wardha & Trestle fabrication at

AIML, Raipur has been completed.

iii) Progress on Viaduct Portion (S-70 to S-180): Launching of viaduct portion

from S-80 to S-180, Segment AS34 to AS35 and AS36 to AS07 completed.

a. Progress:

(i) RCC Work: All completed except the pier cap of S-70.

B. Slope stabilization – Kauri end: In progress. C. Slope stabilization - Bakkal end: In progress.
