THE MID-TERM ELECTIONS

Many have asked me what I think the mid-term elections meant. I will briefly address my take on them here.

I shared this quote last month: “Everything impor-tant in life is determined by those who show up.” The Democrats won back the House of Representatives because they showed up in greater numbers in key races than Republicans. Research revealed that the difference in some of the key races could have been made up by a single good sized congregation mobiliz-ing to vote.

We don’t have to vote to be a Christian, but I would never trust those in a leadership position who don’t believe that they should vote as a basic responsi-bility. That is being more foolish and naïve than I think should ever be in leadership, or in anything. This is a wakeup call. If conservative Christians do not do better in showing up at the poles, we will lose our Republic and it will be replaced by a terrible tyranny, as we now see in the behavior coming from the left.

It is shocking to hear so many Christians saying “I trust The Lord” or “The Lord is in control” as an excuse not to vote. Of course we trust The Lord, and of course He is ultimately in control, but it has been His mandate that we get engaged as the salt and light we are called to be—and that we be faithful to our responsibilities. He was “in control” when Hitler took over too. Was that His will? Of course not. He sent us

The Helper, not The Doer, and He will help us if we do our part. However, if we do not take up our responsibility, “The only thing needed for evil to prevail is for the good to do nothing,” as has been quoted often.

So what does that mean? The great division in the country will continue. A “red wave” would have brought many to their senses that America is not going any further down the path of Marxist social-ism. A turn could have been made back toward the moorings of our Constitutional Republic.

So what should we do now? Of course, we should always put prayer first, and we are com-manded to pray for our leaders whether we agree with them or not. I continue to pray for The Holy Spirit of Truth to expose and reveal, which I think He has been doing about as fast as we can handle what is being revealed.

A Clear Trumpet Call

In our Republic, the people are the sovereign and the government is subject to us, not the other way around. Thus, we the people will be accountable before God for our leadership and government, just as any sovereign is. This is a job we cannot abdicate. If we are not happy with the way things are going, and I cannot imagine that any Christian would be, let us resolve now to do our job better. Every election that passes where we do not take our responsibility and get engaged leads us to greater jeopardy. It is our Christian duty.

THE CLEAR TRUMPET CALL

This past Harvest Fest, I think we had the clearest, most timely, and most powerful message go forth than possibly in any other conference we have hosted. It did not come through any one person, but rather altogether. Without any human collaboration, each message fit together in an unprec-edented way, and I’ve spent a good part of my life in confer-ences. Then, the KBA conference speakers were like a Part II with the same message, adding big pieces to the picture painted for us by The Holy Spirit.

The message was about the harvest, being prepared for the greatest unfolding ingathering of all time. This is a subject that I have loved and preached since I had the Vision of the Harvest in 1987. However, the overall message of these two gatherings was the clearest, most powerful, and practical I have ever heard.

It was a remarkable lineup of speakers, including Daniel Kolenda, Jeremiah Johnson, Todd Bentley, Lou Engel, Lance Wallnau, Bobby Conner, Ed Silvoso, and our team. These are some of the most powerful teachers and preachers today, but they all seemed to hit a new level of anointing during the meetings. Some even told me they did not remember feeling that anointed before.

Look for the teaching set on the webstore called Preparing for the Harvest. I encourage all of you to do this even if you were at these conferences so that you can hear them again and let the word

go even deeper into you. I am doing this myself, and I am even more pumped about this now than I was during the conferences.

There is still a grace for each of our gatherings to keep going higher. It seems that this momentum is increasing and speeding up now. We have now hosted nearly three hundred events, and I have spoken in far more than that. I have always considered myself to have the best job in the world, but it’s getting much better now! There is no greater adventure, or more exciting life, than following The King, and it’s getting better and better.

I can’t wait for the Vision New Year’s Conference. I can already feel the spiritual energy building. I hope to see you there, but don’t wait for the conferences to move with Him. They are just to help us gain a common unity and focus like the feasts did for the nation of Israel. They are meant to be a spiritual feast when we gather with our fellow family members in the body of Christ and cel-ebrate our God and His greatness. Let’s all be moving with good momentum when we get there.

Unveiling Revelation for this Season

God has extended an invitation to all who desire to come and receive revelation. The revelation we receive is to be birthed this season. God is looking for a declaration

of these revelations to ignite the sparks for His upcom-ing move.

3-Step Process in Positioning for Revelation:

1) Schedule consistent time to spend with the Lord, as you would for any appointment.

2) Set aside your normal agenda and allow Holy Spirit to guide you.

3) Steward well the revelation and instructions you receive through intercession, discernment, and declara-tion.

an invitation to step through the door. As I stepped through and stood for a moment the clouds suddenly parted in front of me and I could see clearly.

The Lord is saying, “It is time to step all the way over the threshold to receive clarity.”

We will not be able to fully see if we are strad-dling the doorway. We have to be fully committed and step over. As we do, we will see the revealing of our next steps.

SEASON OF GREATER ANOINTING

The Lord says, “It is the season for a greater anoint-ing to be released over My people.”

Just as Gideon believed he was the weakest and the least and then came to know the truth that he was indeed a mighty man of valor, we also will come to understand our true identity in the Lord.

Once the truth of his identity was established, Gideon was given an assignment from God with a greater anointing that fit his true identity (see Judges 6:12-15). The Lord is calling you to step into your

identity so that the greater anointing can come upon you. Like when Gideon stepped into his identity, the Holy Spirit will come upon you in greater power (see Judges 6:34).

AWAKENING OF THE GENERATIONS

“I am awakening this generation,” says the Lord. “Now is the time—they will be awakened from their slumber.”

God is awakening the Body of Christ and the unbelievers. This time of awakening encompasses all ages, both young and old. We will see the young and old come with desperation to know Jesus, and their hunger will ignite a wild fire in others.

In the Old Testament, Israel moved with one purpose, and they were identified by the anointing in their tribes, not by their ages. It is time for us to be identified by our anointing, not by cultural labels such as Millennials, Gen X, Baby Boomers, etc. Being known by our anointing will unite us. Being labeled with the truth not only unites us, it releases strength beyond our expectation. God is calling us to arise as

UNVEILING OF THE ENEMY’S PLANS

The Lord says, “We are stepping into a season where the enemy’s assignment against us is no longer hidden—it will be exposed.”

The Lord is revealing the identity and the strategy of the strongmen and their minions who are operating against us. The Lord wants us to go straight to Him in order to eradicate the whole army, cancelling every assignment and strategic assault against us.

The Lord has a unique strategy for us to deploy against the enemy’s assault, as He did when the Philistines came against King David (see II Samuel 5). We can do this by discerning the unique strategies the Lord has for us to come against the enemy’s assault. We will not be able to rely on what worked last time. We will need to rely on what God’s plan is for each time!

CREATING WEALTH

God has given us the ability to create wealth, and the key word for this season is “create.” An increase of wealth will come through a release of creative ideas for business-es, inventions, and philanthropic endeavors that will partner with Him in expanding of the kingdom (see Deuteronomy 8:18).

God has given kingdom-minded people the anointing that draws others. There will be a multitude of people who

are seeking a place to invest in for the greatest impact (see I Kings 10:23-24). People from the world will come to invest in the creative wealth-building being released by kingdom people.

TRAVELING IN THE SPIRIT

I was traveling in Spirit with Jesus and He said to me, “You will go places in the Spirit that you will never go in the natural.”

To cover more ground, Jesus is preparing us to travel in the Spirit to places that need a specific deposit from God. Over the last six months, Jesus has taken me in the Spirit to many cities in America and several countries around the world. In some of the places, He showed me what He was doing. In other places, He had me release a prophetic awakening. It is time to pack our spiritual suitcases and be ready to go at a moment’s notice.

SEASON OF MIRACLES

We are stepping into an increase of miracles like we have never seen before. Not only will there be an expo-nential increase of the miraculous, but our eyes will be opened to see into the miracle realm. We will be able to pull down unusual miracles as well as miracles we have never seen before.

These miracles will catch the attention of the media, and God will use these miracles as part of the strategy for the harvest. As people encounter the miraculous, the miraculous will dramatically change their lives.

Jesus will be revealed to be the author of the dramatic life change through the movement of the miraculous. The lie of the enemy will be uncovered with the revealing of Jesus as Savior.

THE AN-CER FOR CANCER

I was in the Spirit with Jesus standing in front of a white board that had the word CANCER written on it. With the eraser, He erased the C.

Jesus said to me, “You have the ANCER (answer) to cancer.”

The Lord showed me there would be a discovery to cure cancer this fall. There will be a base formula and it will be used as the foundation. There will be other ingredients added to the base formula determined on the type of cancer being treated.

TAKE ACTION NOW AND STEP THROUGH THE

DOORWAY

This is a season of action! When the things that have been concealed are revealed to you, you will have to take action to keep the momentum moving forward.

Right now, let’s step into the season together. Stand up and prophetically step over your threshold into this new season and declare:

• I am prophetically stepping into my season of revelation

• I step into a new understanding of my identity as mighty and strong

What to Do When the Brook Dries Up

Even the prophet Elijah faced this. The Lord had given him explicit instructions to go to the Brook Cherith, “And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there” (1 Kings 17:2-7).

There’s an old maxim that says, “Where God guides, He provides,” and this was Elijah’s experience for many days as he sat by the brook. Plenty of clean, cool water to drink, and the ravens brought him bread and meat twice a day. It was a pretty nice life, carefree in every way.

But when God wants to bring us to an important transition point, He often allows our “brook” to dry up. This is bewildering, because we’re certain the Lord has used the brook to provide for us in the past. We’ve been following His will, and it’s hard to imagine our carefree life ever coming to an end.

However, through no fault of Elijah, his circumstances began to change: “It happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land” (v. 7).

One of the most baffling experiences in life is when you’ve sincerely

endeavored to follow God’s will, only to find that His provision

seems to be drying up. Yet this is something experienced by just

about everyone at one point or another.


Ironically, the brook dried up as the direct result of Elijah’s obedience in telling King Ahab there would be no rain “except at my word” (v. 1). Without rain, it was only a matter of time before the brook would run out of water—but all of this was part of God’s plan.

Perhaps you can relate to Elijah’s experience. Maybe the job that provided income for you and your family for many years is drying up. Or the thriving church that once nurtured your faith is now a lifeless pile of dry bones. Or perhaps you find yourself in a marriage that has grown cold and dry, with no solution in sight.

So, what can you do when your brook dries up? How should you react when some life-giving stream of God’s blessing is no longer bringing you the provision and nourishment you need?

Here are some thoughts…

1. Thank God for how He used the brook in past seasons of your life. Instead of cursing the dry creek bed, be grateful for the sustenance it once brought you.

2. Be grateful that a new season—with fresh provision—is right around the corner. When your brook starts to dry up, you should get excited instead of depressed! Since the Lord has promised to be your provider in every season, you can look at the future with great anticipation.

3. Let go of any false nostalgia about the “good old days” when the brook was full of water. Yes, God used the brook to bless you in the past, but now you can trust Him for even BETTER things in your future. Don’t let past blessings become an idol that hinders you from embracing the next season of your life.

4. Listen for a new set of instructions. Elijah knew God had told him to go to the Brook Cherith—and Elijah had obeyed. But now it was time for some new instructions, which God was faithful to provide: “Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, ‘Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you’” (vs. 8-9). If you want a fresh start, you will need to listen for fresh directions

from the Lord. The new instructions may cause you even greater bewilderment, and I’m sure Elijah wondered how some widow he’d never met was going to provide for him. Are you willing to trust God anyway?

Here’s a brief prophetic thought on this important message: The world is entering a season when many of the “brooks” we’ve been relying upon are going to dry up. It has never been more crucial to trust God and obey His instructions. If we do, the new season can be far better than the previous one. If we don’t, we could find ourselves sitting next to a dry creek bed, wonder-ing what happened to the water and the ravens.

“But when God wants to bring us to an important transition point, He often allows our ‘brook’ to dry up. This is bewildering, because we’re certain the Lord has used the brook to provide for us in the past. We’ve been following His will, and it’s hard to imagine our carefree life ever coming to an end.”

The Box: Identifying the New

I reached to pull a protein packet from the box, but the box wasn’t there. That seemed odd. I looked on the shelf above and then on the shelf below. Then I started again from the door to closely examine the third shelf. It seemed everything was where it was placed the day before. I looked at the shelf at the back of the pantry. The box couldn’t be there, could it? We keep odds and ends there, a carving knife, some 30-year-old TV trays, used plastic bags from Wal-Mart. The box couldn’t be there, but I looked anyway.

Then I became suspicious. My wife Sandy had reorganized the pantry a few weeks earlier. A pesky mouse had made its way into our private castle. She took everything out and put it back in a nicely orga-nized fashion. (After all, I want to know we have a spare bottle of ketchup when the one in the refrigerator runs out.) I thought to myself, “Don’t tell me she moved things around again.”

I was thinking of asking her, but like every man, I didn’t seek directions. So, I searched the shelves again. The protein box had to be there. I started at the begin-ning of the shelf again and made my way item by item

toward the back, finally getting to the exact spot where I remembered placing the box. There was a box there, but it didn’t have the familiar logo of the protein shake company facing me. It had small lettering, probably about the ingredients contained in the box. I thought it was a box of stevia, which we also use to fight the battle of the bulge.

But wait, it was the box containing the protein shakes. I had simply been looking for a familiar image and couldn’t recognize the box in any other way.

I think the same “wrong box” thinking is how we look for many godly things. It is one of the reasons the Jews did not recognize Jesus when He came. It’s probably why many Christians didn’t recognize the move of the Holy Spirit when He swept the world in the ‘70s and ‘80s in the Charismatic movement. They were familiar with a certain way of knowing God. Their minds blinded them to the fact that the box has different looks.

This can also be how we think of God the Father. Our ideas of the Old Testament God of creation

One morning I went into our nice food pantry to get my familiar breakfast

composed of a protein shake and a banana. I already had ice and water in

the blender. The next step was to get a protein shake packet from the third

shelf about two-thirds of the way to the back of the pantry.

who was severe in His holiness and punish-ments blind us to how our Heavenly Father really is. We think we know Him, but we really don’t. Christ came to reveal the Father to His own people. They thought they knew what He looked like, but Jesus presented Him in a way that blinded eyes couldn’t see.

Our own religious upbringing, current spiritual thoughts, or influences from our culture can also blind us to the new way the Father will appear. He can be there right in front of us as the protein box was, but we can’t see Him.

The Father is about to make a grand re-appearance in all creation. It may be new and different from what we have known or believed or expected. It will be beyond our familiarity. But we will know it’s him when His refining fire sweeps through our lives to purify us as gold and burn away the dross in our lives. He is coming in “the move of the Father” as Bob Jones and many pro-phetic voices have indicated. Let’s have eyes to see beyond the familiar in order to identify the new.

Coming Apart or Coming Together?

Jesus taught that the world is presently under the control of the “ruler of this world”—the devil (see John 14:30). This explains why Satan offered Jesus authority over the world’s kingdoms if only He would worship him (see Luke 4:5-7).

The “world” Satan said was delivered to him refers to the system operating under the influence of rebellious, unregenerate, and fallen mankind. This explains why men and women in the world believe and behave as they do, reinforcing the truth that “the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” (see I John 5:19).

The Bible describes how those who do not know or belong to God are under “the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will” (see II Timothy 2:26). Not only are they under Satan’s influence and delusion, but they are also being used to bring others into the same captivity. Jesus told those who claimed to

be the descendants of Abraham but could not listen to His words that they were of their father the devil, doing his desire and will (see John 8:43-44).

In his letter to the church of Ephesus, Paul describes how Satan is at work in the sons and daughters of disobe-dience (see Ephesians 2:2). This is in contrast to those in whom God is at work (see Philippians 2:13). What Jesus would not do when tempted in the wilderness, lost and rebellious humanity has done.

The world’s system includes governments, economies, political and religious ideologies, social standards of behavior, and on and on. All will be severely shaken. Instead of trying to save the current world system, the church is in the world to save and deliver those held captive by the ruler of this world.

The church is called to prepare people for the kingdom Jesus declared had come and yet still would come as the kingdoms initiated and controlled by man fall apart. This shaking has begun and is a necessary step of the promised increase of God’s government in the earth (see Isaiah 9:7).

THE AUTHOR OF THE SHAKING

It is understandable to think the devil, whose job is “to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (see John 10:10), initiated the shaking taking place around the world, especially concerning the economy. Nothing could be further from the truth.

God is the one doing the shaking! He declared, “Yet once more I shake, not only the earth, but also heaven” (see Hebrews 12:26). No man, conspiracy of men, nation or council of nations, or devil can claim responsibility. All are tools used in the process, but God alone is the mover and shaker of the great shaking (see Isaiah 45: 6-7).

God spoke through Haggai and reminded the people not to fear when the shaking began. It is how He would overthrow the strength of the Gentile kingdoms and their influence over the people. God’s people were to be assured His Spirit and peace would be with them, and that something better was on the other side.

The shaking was to be seen as a prelude to the greater glory of the latter house. God even assured His people,

“the silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts” (Haggai 2:8). This assurance was that when the world’s currency and economies failed, the economy of the kingdom never would.

THE BATTLE OF WILLS

We are commanded to not, “love the world or the things in the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever (I John 2:15, 17). The Apostle Paul confirmed how “the form of this world is passing away” (see I Corinthians 7:31). If the form of this world is passing away, and it is, then we should be looking, building, and living for the one that cannot be shaken and will last for eternity.

Immediately after pointing out the why and who is behind the shaking, the writer of Hebrews gives us the key to maintaining hope and peace in the midst of the shaking in the context. Hebrews 13:8 boldly declares, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Everything that can be shaken will be shaken, just as the Scriptures confirm. Regardless of the intensity, those who follow and trust in Jesus will stand in the shaking because of the unshakable nature of the kingdom and our trust in the unchangeable nature of Jesus Christ.

When everything appears to be coming apart, the kingdom of God will be coming together to its fulfillment:

The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (see Revelation 11:15)

This quote is from both the Christian Old Testament and the Hebrew Torah (as stated in the Pentateuch), and I find it extraordinary for many reasons. It is the

first instance in both documents where the concept of being filled with “the Spirit of God” is mentioned. More significantly, this unusual power was given to enable the head craftsman to have the proper skills for the con-struction of the Temple of God. For this incredible undertaking, Bezalel needed all three circles of Spirit, skill, and self mastery working together for this major work of construction and design.

It would seem more appropriate that the first mention of this remarkable infilling of God’s Spirit should be in reference to performing miracles, extreme missionary sacrifice, or remarkable preaching. Instead, the Spirit of God fills a worker with the great task before him so that he has the necessary mastery to do his work with excellence. This underscores the importance of interplay between Spirit, skill, and self mastery.

A skill is something that requires training and experience that comes from focused education as well as repetition and practice. Our skills are developed through continual, intensive effort. These skills have both a physical and mental component.

Think of a master carpenter. The final pieces he creates are perfect examples of his workmanship. You marvel at how flawlessly and skillfully his finished pieces have come together. If you were able to watch him as he labored, you would notice a quick and deliberate pace. A master carpenter completes tasks much quicker than an apprentice. His expertise is shown through his finished work. This is the nature of skill development. Through the development of skill in accounting, masonry, or public speaking, etc., our finished projects reflect our expertise.

To gain this expertise in a certain skill, it is often necessary to narrow your scope of concentration. You see this often in the medical community where the complexity of our anatomy requires doctors to narrow their focus and become a specialist in a certain component of medicine. The powerful com-bination of training, repetition, and practice, along with an ever-narrowing scope, is what truly devel-ops expertise.

Dear Friend,

As you read this, I will have entered my 70th year. Since I met The Lord in a supernatural experience at twenty-one years old, I have had continuous cycles of seven-year periods. There would be a seven-year period of revelation, followed by seven years of almost no revelation; rather, I would have a time of studying history and other fields and sinking my roots deeper into His Word. Each new cycle was more intense than the previous ones. In 2014, I entered another period of increasing revelation. Each year since, the revelation has come faster and on a deeper level. This past year has been the most extraordinary I’ve ever experienced. I deeply love prophetic revela-tion, but what has been even better is that I have never felt closer to The Lord.

I’m sharing this with you because for many years, I have prayed that all who are linked with MorningStar as members of our fellowships, Partners, or students would also experience the same grace and favor in their relation-ship with The Lord. Nothing can ever enrich our lives—or give more purpose to them—like drawing closer to Him. To be a friend of God is the greatest treasure and the greatest experience we can have in this life.

As we see division intensifying and increasing in the world, we are in greater need of revival and another Great Awakening. Nothing less than these will ever heal our land. It is our resolve to see The Lord lifted up—the only One who can ever draw all men together. To do this, He must be that in our own life. We continue to have projects that we’re building to help us be more effective in our communication and ministry, but far more than anything else, we need the anointing of The Holy Spirit to testify of Jesus. Jesus was the apostolic message in the beginning of the church age, and He will be the message at the end. We are thankful for all of the buildings and resources He has made us stewards of, but more than anything else, our ministry is building a message. It is the greatest message that will ever be heard on the earth—the gospel of His coming kingdom.
