After haggling for nearly two hours, commissioners Tues- day approved a new budget that includes $7.9 million in revenues and $9.7 million in expenditures for the new year. The shortfall will be made up with a fund bal- ance of $1.955 million. The prop- erty tax rate will remain 5 mills, which includes 0.0870 mills toward the operation of the Scott Township Public Library.
