Introduction:

Situated at the Nature’s Abode, Laxmi Institute of Technology, located at Sarigam,

Bhilad, is 170 kms from Mumbai, 120 kms from Surat and 14 kms each from Silvassa,

Daman and Vapi. It endeavors to create a world class infrastructure for Engineering and

Technology.

On 25th

September, 2014, our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched a

massive Campaign named Make in India which not only encourages the Indian

industries to manufacture products in India but also motivates the youth of the nation to

innovate and invent new ways of manufacturing, designing and producing. It emphasizes

on job creation and skill development through various academic and training programs.

Honorable Prime Minister’s Initiative of Make in India was propagated as a final year

project fair Make in India@LIT-2015 at Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam, on

25th April, 2015. The Engineering students prepared and presented 92 innovative projects

which have potential to be developed as a product.

Project Fair was conceptualized keeping in mind following objectives:

To provide opportunities to the students to present novel ideas,

To give them space for deliberation and discussion,

To extend technological knowledge among students,

To provide opportunity to students to demonstrate innovative projects in the field

of technology,

To develop technically updated and innovative human resource who can

contribute to bright future of the nation.

The students actively presented their projects. Both the Industry Defined Projects (IDPs)

and User Defined Projects (UDPs) were presented by the way of live demonstration,

models and posters.

Conducts:

Shree Shailesh Vira, the Secretary of Sarigam Industrial Association along with heads of

many representative industries examined the potential of the projects and appreciated the

mega event. Vapi Industrial Association also helped the institute for the successful

organization of this mega event. The parents and academicians also attended the program

and appreciated the endeavor of students to explore new horizons in technology.

Brigadier Dr. V.D. Abraham, Director of Laxmi Institute of Technology appreciated the

work of students and staff members to make the event grand and splendid. He announced

Impressed by project titled Energy saving device. We need good area for further

academic development in the field of chemical and plastic engineering at our

esteemed educational institute.
