DAILY ITINERARY

Excellent itinerary and value for money pilgrimage

Day 1 UK/Tel Aviv/Bethlehem Depart London Luton for flight to Tel Aviv. Everyone meets at the airport. Please wear your badge so that your leader can easily identify that you are one of the group travelling. Upon arrival at Tel Aviv airport, your guide and coach will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Bethlehem. Dinner at the hotel depending on the time of arrival. Day 2 Bethlehem / Shepherd’s Field After breakfast, we walk to the Manger Square - the Basilica of the Nativity - to start our walking tour for today. We first visit The Grotto inside Nativity Church where Jesus was born, followed by Mass in St Catherine’s church and afterwards we visit St Joseph’s Grotto and Franciscan Church of the Nativity. We have lunch in the Manger Square and afterwards we walk to the Milk

Grotto and visit the Museum of the Miracles. Local bus to Shepherd’s field, visit Grottos there and visit Chapel above - where the angels first sang the ‘Gloria in Excelcis Deo’ on the night of the first Christmas. We will have a chance to do some shopping before we return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3

Bethlehem/Jerusalem (old city)

Early departure for Jerusalem to the Old City. Visit Western Wall, then walk to the church of Ecce Homo, built on the site of the Palace of Pilate where we start our Stations of the Cross along via Dolorosa, following the route Our Lord walked on the first Good Friday and ending in the Holy Sepulchre Basilica - the holiest place on earth. We celebrate Mass in one of the chapels here (if possible). Afterwards we visit the Holy Tomb of Jesus, Mt Calvary, and the Grotto of the True Cross. Lunch break then continue on to visit the Chapel of the Upper Room, the magnificent Dormition Abbey where Our Lady was assumed to heaven, St Peter’s in Gallicantu - a truly incredible Shrine, and we visit the dungeon where Jesus was imprisoned after His mock trial on Maundy Thursday night. Return to our hotel.

Day 4, Jerusalem/Jericho/Dead Sea Coach to the Summit of Mt of Olives, Jerusalem; visit Ascension Dome, Pater Noster Grotto, walk to Dominus Flevit

(where Jesus wept over Jerusalem), Mass here and afterwards proceed to Gethsemane Garden and Basilica (the beautiful Church of all Nations). Drive to Jericho, view Mt of Temptation and Zacchaeus’s Sycamore Tree followed by lunch in Qumran. Then on to the Dead Sea for the swimming/floating experience. Return to our hotel and dinner. Day 3

Day of Leisure/Free day

Mass will be arranged in the Carmel of Bethlehem convent, a short walk (where King David lived as a boy). View here the magnificent chapel of St Joseph (designed by Christ, and shown in a vision to the Founded by Bl. Mary of Jesus Crucified). Day 4

Nazareth/Cana/Mt Tabor Leave the hotel and drive along the Jordan Valley and visit the imposing Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, viewing the Grotto where the Annunciation took place. We celebrate Mass in the Upper Basilica and afterwards we tour this Basilica - one of the finest churches in the Middle East. Continue on to visit St Joseph’s Workshop and the Synagogue of Jesus. Drive to Cana visiting Church of the Wedding. Renewal of Marriage Vows here (married couples). A certificate can be purchased (for $5) as proof of your Renewal of Vows, where Our Lord performed his first miracle.

Proceed to Mt Tabor the church of Transfiguration and taxi up to the Mountain. Drive to Tiberias and check in to our hotel. Day 7 Sea of Galilee/Tiberias Depart hotel and coach to Tiberias and sail on the Sea of Galilee in an ancient reproduction boat (this would be one of the highlights of your pilgrimage). Afterwards drive to Capernaum and tour here visiting the church of St Peter and remains of the ancient Synagogue. We also visit Mt Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount took place and St Peter’s Primacy where Christ appeared to the Apostles after His Resurrection. We will celebrate Mass here. Drive to the Church of the Feeding of the 5,000 (Tabgha) proceed to the River Jordan ‘Yardinit’ for renewal of Baptismal Vows. Drive back to our hotel in Bethlehem. Evening dinner at the hotel. Day 8

Bethlehem/Ein Karem/UK

After breakfast we say goodbye to Bethlehem and drive to Ein Karem. Here we visit the Visitation Shrine of Our Lady to St Elizabeth and we celebrate Mass in this beautiful location. Afterwards we walk down to visit St John the Baptist’s birthplace and tour here. Continue our journey to the airport for our flight back to London.
