1. A Mothers Love For Her Child! 2. 2Ti 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2Ti 1:2 To Timothy, a beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 2Ti 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, 2Ti 1:4 greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, 2Ti 1:5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. 3. With today being Mothers Day I would like to study with you a mothers love for her child! t is indeed a great blessing to be a mother or a father! Children are a blessing from God, but with each blessing comes responsibility! Ps 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Ps 127:4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are he children of one's youth. Ps 127:5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of hem; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with 4. God requires us to teach and the train our children! Pr 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Eph 6:4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. This proper training and teaching is what we find n young Timothys life! Being done by with mother and grandmother! 2Ti 3:14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 2Ti 3:15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for 5. I. A Mothers Love Means She Provides For Her Children! We are told many times in the Bible about our need to provide for our families! 1Ti 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. Tit 2:3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things-- Tit 2:4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, Tit 2:5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, 6. A wonderful example of this is found in (Pr. 31:10-31) This is the kind of mother every mother should strive to me! This will not always be easy, but it will always be worth it! Real love is not what we say, but what we do! 1Jn. 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. A loving mother does not only tell her children that she loves them, but she shows them by what she does! We should often tell our children that we love them, but our actions must follow! 7. II. A Mothers Love Means She Protects Her Children! This is done in many ways! This is why she gives them rules to follow! Pr 3:11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction; Pr 3:12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights. Pr 13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly. Eph 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. She help them learn the difference between wrong and right! 8. In many homes today, the child runs the home rather than the parent! When this is the case the father and mother are not able to properly protect the child! Rules are for protection! It is sad that so many children do not have loving mothes and fathers that will truly protect them from the dangers of the world! Often times the blame is placed on the child, but we must remember that children will act childish without proper teaching! 1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I 9. III. A Mothers Love Means She Is Proud Of Her Child! This point I have put last for good reason! The first two need to come first to get to this one! This point is the result! When a mother really loves her children and provides for them and protects them, later in life she will be able to become very proud of them! Do you think that Timothys mother and grandmother where proud of the men he as become in the house of God? He is now a proclaimer of the very Word they had taught him! I do understand that this is not always the 10. Conclusion: Truly today is a day to make mom proud by living a life worry of the Gospel! I ask you tonight, if your mother knew the true you, would she be ashamed or proud of you toninght? God knews us even better than we know ourselves. If you are here and you are or will one day become a mother, then remember the great blessing and responsibility God has given you! If you are here today and not yet a Christian, then we want you to have the opportunity to become one night!
