Removethedischargevalveballs,O-ringsandseats(Fig4)fromtheliquidchambersandinspectfornicks,gouges,chemicalattackorabrasivewear.ReplacewornpartswithgenuineTABLApartsforreliableperformance.

Beforestartingdisassembly,markalinefromeachliquidchambertoitscorrespondingairchamber.Thislinewillassistinproperalignmentduringreassembly.

Utilizingawrench,removetheboltsthatfastenthedischargemanifoldtotheliquidchambers.

Removetheboltswhichfastenthesuctionmanifoldtotheliquidchambers.

DISASSEMBLY

Liftsuctionmanifoldfromliquidchambersandcentresectiontoexposeintakevalveballsandseat.Inspectballcageareaofliquidchamberforexcessivewearanddamage.

STEP 6

CAUTION: Beforeanymaintenanceorrepairisattempted,thecompressedairlinetothepumpshouldbedisconnectedandallairpressureallowedtobleedfromthepump.Disconnectallintake,discharge,andairlines.Drainthepumpbyturningitupsidedownandallowinganyfluidtoflowintoasuitablecontainer.Beawareofanyhazardouseffectsofcontactwithyourprocessfluid.

Liftliquidchamberawayfromcentersectiontoexposediaphragmandlocknut(outerpiston).

Normallyinletanddischargemanifoldsshouldnotbedisassembledduringregularpumpmaintenance.Shouldthisbenecessary,completelyremoveclampbandsandinspectO-ringsfornicks,cutsandchemicalattack.

Usinganadjustablewrench,orbyrotatingthediaphragmbyhand,removethediaphragmassembly.

NOTE:Duetovaryingtorquevalues,oneofthefollowingtwosituationsmayoccur:

1)Thelocknut(outerpiston),diaphragmandholdingplate(innerpiston)remainattachedtotheshaftandtheentireassemblycanberemovedfromthecentersection(Fig12).

2)Thelocknut(outerpiston),diaphragmandholdingplate(innerpiston)separatefromtheshaftwhichremainsconnectedtotheoppositesidediaphragmassembly(Fig13).Repeatdisassemblyinstructionsfortheoppositeliquidchamber.Inspectdiaphragmassemblyandshaftforsignsofwearorchemicalattack.ReplaceallwornpartswithgenuineTABLApartsforreliableperformance.

Toremovediaphragmassemblyfromshaft,secureshaftwithsoftjaws(avisefittedwithplywoodorothersuitablematerial)toensureshaftisnotnicked,scratched,orgouged.Usinganadjustablewrenchorbyhand,removediaphragmassemblyfromshaft.InspectallpartsforwearandreplacewithgenuineTABLApartsifnecessary.

REASSEMBLY

STEP 1�

Uponperformingapplicablemaintenancetotheairdistributionsystem,thepumpcannowbereassembled.Pleaserefertothedisassemblyinstructionsforphotosandpartsplacement.Toreassemblethepump,followthedisassemblyinstructionsinreverseorder.Theairdistributionsystemneedstobeassembledfirst,thenthediaphragmsandfinallythewettedparts.Pleasefindtheapplicabletorquespecificationsonthispage.Thefollowingtipswillassistintheassemblyprocess.•Cleantheinsideofthecentersectionshaftbushingto

ensurenodamageisdonetonewseals.•Stainlessboltsshouldbelubedtoreducethe

possibilityofseizingduringtightening.•Ensureproperalignmentonthesealingsurfacesof

intakeanddischargemanifolds.•Liquidchambersareeasiertoattachwhenthe

diaphragmisinverted.Priortoattachingthesecondwaterchamber,pushdiaphragmassemblysothatitisascloseaspossibletothecentersection.

•PVDFpumpsrequireTeflon®gasketkitsforimprovedsealing.Gasketkitsmaybeinstalledonotherpumpswheresealingisanissue.

Removethediaphragm&locknutIfdiaphragmaredamagedreplacethem(alwaysreplaceboththediaphragm).
