The largest CitizenshipCeremony held in townALICE Springs will celebrate itsbiggest-ever citizenship ceremonyon Monday.
More than 115 new citizens from23 different countries will makethe affirmation to become Austral-ian citizens.
The citizenship ceremony will beadministered by Mayor DamienRyan in conjunction with TerritoryDay and held in the Civic CentreFunction room at 9am.
The proceedings include the takingof the oath and affirmation ofall candidates, followed by the pre-sentation of a Certificate of Austral-ian Citizenship by Mr Ryan toeach conferee.
At the conclusion of the ceremony,Mr Ryan will conduct an affirmation
ceremony. This is a short ceremonyat which all Australians are giventhe opportunity to publicly affirmtheir loyalty and commitmentto Australia.
Everyone is welcome and partici-pation is voluntary.
This year’s Territory Day citizen-ship ceremony will see a diverserange of people from a variety ofcountries such as the Philippines,South Korea, Nepal, Zimbabwe,India, Belgium, Namibia, SouthAfrica, Vietnam, Bangladesh, SriLanka, China, Pakistan, Fiji, Kuwait,Kenya, Sudan, Italy, Canada, Bolivia,New Zealand, Czech Republic andUnited Kingdom.
