This booklet contains a journal of the Business Transacted during the Second -ion (September) 1978 of the Fourth Legislative Assembly of Goa, Daman and Diu prepared in pursuance of the provisians of Rule 271 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the Goa, Dama.n and Diu Le$slative Assembly. Statistical information in regard to some of the items is also given wherever possyle.

The Second Session, (September) 1978 of the Fourth Legislative Assembly of Goa, Daman and Diu commenced a t the Assembly Hall, Panaji on Wednesda-he 13th September, 1978 and proroged on 18th September, 1978. Four meetings W6re held and the total time taken for the business of the meetings was 19 hours and 30 minites.

VL. Hcrn Speaker informed the House about the Report of the Business Advisory Committee. The Minister for Legislative Affairs moved for adoption of the Report. The motion for adoption of the Report was put to vote and carried.

The Chair therefore asked for second division for which the treasury benches abstained from voting under protest. The results of second division were therefore declared as 'Ayes-0; Noes-15. The motion was defeated.

ii) The Minister for law moved for leave to introduce the Goa, Daman and Diu (Extension of the Indian Easement Act) Bill, 1978. Motion proposed. Four members took part in the debate. The debate on the Bill was adjourned on the motion made by the Minister for Law.

iii) The Minister for Local Self Govt. moved for leave to introduce Bill no. 19 of 1978- The Goa, Daman and Diu Municipalities (Amendment) Bill, 1978.

"Serious apprehensions caused in the minds of medical students/resident doctors, that they may loose registrations for post graduate studies and steps taken by Government or intends to take in the matter".

(ii) Shri Froilano Machado called the attention of Minister for Labour on the following matter of urgent public importance: -

"Grave concern and serious unrest amongst the seven hundred and odd employees and their families of M/s. Gosalia Shipping Pvt. Ltd. and their other associate concerns a t the mines, workshops barges, head-office, stevedoring department etc. due to non-receipt of their legitimate wages since last three to four months and non-payment of bonus for two years and the utter failure of Government machinery to help the employers redress the grievznces of their workers according to the law of the land and steps Government intends to take in the matter".
