UK Parliament Holding Inquiry into Sanctions Cooperation Post-Brexit

thOn 7 April 2017, the European Union (EU) decided to expand its nuclear-proliferation sanctions on North Korea, in response to its apparent violations of UN resolutions and the threat it poses to international peace and security. The new sanctions expand existing prohibitions on investment to new sectors, namely conventional arms, metallurgy, and aerospace. They also prohibit the provision of computer services and services linked to mining and manufacturing in the chemical, mining and refining industry to people and entities in North Korea.
The UK Parliament is holding an inquiry into the future of sanctions policy and cooperation after the country leaves the EU. The inquiry will accept evidence in April and May on advantages and disadvantages of future cooperation between the UK and EU on sanctions.
