About 500 students were successfully placed by the team with more than 100 leading companies such as PwC, Siemens,

Effective Cover Letter & Resume Writingby Kelly Services

The recent resume and cover letter writing workshop was held for Taylor’s Law School First Year students and was conducted by Ms. Ku Sim Ling, Manager of Corporate Accounts, Kelly Services Malaysia.

“The Power of Networking”Session,a Global Experience Professional Development Expert Series

To be successful these days is no longer about what you know, but who you know and who knows you. Networking is a skill that is becoming synonymous with a successful business, and is also the key to a good social life. Thus, Career Services Centre organised The Power of Networking in partnership with Ms. Sue Cheah, who teaches the Global Experience Professional Development class for Taylor’s Business School to stress the importance of networking to her students. For this session, we had Samuel Wee, General Manager of SAYS.my and an alumnus from Taylor’s Business School, to share about his experience as a student in Taylor’s and how his networking skills had led to some of the most memorable experiences of his life, including becoming the champion at the 2006 HSBC Young Entrepreneur Challenge with another famous Taylor’s alumnus, Ng Khai Lee.

Samuel Wee with the students of Ms. Sue Cheah’s Global Experience Professional Development gathered for a groupphoto after his impactful sharing session.

Cover letter and resume are the most important documents to have for any future jobseekers. Thus, workshops such as this are frequently organised by Career Services Centre for all Taylor’s University students. If you had missed out or would like a refresher, remember to check out announcements on Student Portal!

Another in-demand event regularly organised by Career Services Centre are workshops on how to prepare for an interview, be it for jobs or for other purposes. The interview process can be daunting for some students, especially for students going to one for the first time. This “Ace that Job Interview” workshop conducted by experienced recruiters from Brunsfield Group of Companies also featured mock interviews where selected students were put through an interview scenario so that other students can see what actually goes on in a real-life interview. Needless to say, students found the workshop very eye-opening and has helped them know what they need to prepare in order to ace their future job interviews.
