It is a powerful system of zones selection, made with the newest technology, with which Optimus wants to reaffirm its position in the field of Public Address. It is a new step in the micro-controlled systems, between the conventional MD-94/R4 microphone desk and the sophisticated systems controlled by PC.The system consists of two basic elements, the SMP-94RS microphone desk and the SMP-94R decoder, which solve most of the installations where a zones selection system is required. This system can be used for installations from the ones with many transmission points and with different priority levels amongst the desks, to the most simple one with only one transmission point.

The system allows up to 744 different zones. In special cases, this number can be increased. One of the most important characteristics of the system is that it includes a function of repetition and waiting queue of messages, with very simple operations, that allows to start it working very quickly and without needing a special training.To make it work properly, it is advisable to use the OPTIMUS C384PV1 cable for the communication bus and for a maximum length of 1.200 m according to EIA specifications for RS 485 standard.

This product has exactly the same features as the SMP94RS Microphone, but it also has 7 inputs for Remote Events Detection, which allow for the automatic transmission of external pre-recorded messages to a pre-selected zones upon closure of any of the 7 input contacts.

This element allows for the installations of up to 744 zones in a very simple way, just by using a data bus and a 100V line, connecting all the units in parallel and therefore simplifying enormeously the installation by dramatically reducing the wiring requirements. Each SMP94RZ1 is assigned a zone number by means of built-in dipswitches.

The SMP-92 microprocessor control system for P.A. installations is a system whose control and general capabilities go far beyond those of the most common needs in any big P.A. installation: Airports, Undergrounds, Shopping malls, Hospitals, etc.

The SMP-92 features the following:

SMP 92016

Specialy designed for automatic recording, programming and diffusion of advertising spots. It uses a 386 or higher PC and a recording/playing card model SMP-92016, with output compatible with PRIORITY inputs of the 3 and 4 Series amplifiers and preamplifiers. The maximum number of messages that can be executed is of 99 , with a maximum length of 228 seconds each, that can be programmed by defining the initial and final times of diffusion, the initial interval between them, or at pre-set hours. Recording and Programming can be done autonomously or by using a feature that allows export/import of timed programming and

recording files. This feature is suitable for big supermarkets chains or other places where the same programming is required for several installations.

The SMP-92116/AD recording/playing program allows to the user to make his own recordings and messages with the help of a library of gongs and sirens. The program has a tones generator that can synthesize any kind of alarm siren.

The PM-605 model is a modular circuitry preamplifier consisting of six cards, so that a programmable sensitivity Input and an independent Output correspond to each card. The objective of this fourth generation of OPTIMUS amplifiers is to offer a reliable and longlasting product, for what the newest electronic technologies have been used.The Models PA124 and PA244 are 120W R.M.S. and 240W R.M.S. power integrated amplifiers respectively. They have been designed to be used in public address installations, emergency pagings, background music, speech reproduction systems, etc. The PA244 model has the novelty of using MOSFET technology (Metal Oxid Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor), which improve the qualities of the bipolar transistor used up till now.Regarding the protections, both models include our so

much experienced protections against short-circuits / overloadings in the loudspeakers line, as well as a thermic protection to avoid damages caused by overheating. Moreover, we have included an ANTICLIPPING system that avoids an excessive saturation of the power unit and reduces the distortion beyond the nominal power, increasing so the loudspeakers security margin.As the precedent models, they have lateral mounting brackets for mounting in 19" RACK cabinets. These units have been designed according to the Electromagnetic Compability and Electrical Security standards.

SWITCHING MODULE SELECTION AND SWITCHING MODULE

Selector for 10 zones or loudspeaker lines.Capacity for connection to two amplifiers, one for background music and the other for announce-ments. Options for announcing messages on the line or lines selected, without interrupting the background music on the others.

Contains a monitor loudspeaker with regulator and switch for controlling the amplifiers. The lines switch are prepared for priority override, when the installation has attenuator boxes models AV-4, AV-40 or AV-100.Occupies 2 units of height in the rack (89 mm). Mounting brackets are included.

These models are designed to allow loudspeaker lines switching. Although the MS models include selection push-buttons, all the models allow zone activation externally. They are provided with a selection card for every three zones, and a general switching card that includes a stabilized power supply. Each one of these cards has a channel "I" and a channel "II" input, connected to the terminals corresponding to the general connections card. When more than one amplifier per channel is required, they can be connected directly on the switching cards. They have one contact for each selection control input, and three output contacts for each line (+, S, -C), to allow

the connection of attenuators with security paging devices.All the models are provided with an interdiction contact which, as it joins to the ground, cancels all selections made. In standby, the selected channel to each Output is "Y", and it is advisable to use this channel for background music.The models MS-12L and MS-24L are supplied with All Call push-button, which selects all the outputs to channel "II" to facilitate emergency paging calls.They have a stabilized 24V.d.c. output to supply accessory elements.

SOUNDSPHERE consists of a sphere and a diffusor that have been created to transform the narrow radiation angle of a cone loudspeaker into a perfect diffusor of 360º in horizontal and 180º in vertical.Laboratory tests have demonstrated that the spherical shape offers the flattest frequency response. That, along with the special design of the speaker, makes it

possible to originate acoustic energy from a wider surface of diffusion, thus increasing the power/sound pressure rate. The fibre-glass cover of the sound box, its envolving sphere and the American loudspeaker system with a SONIC SYSTEMS tweeter of the highest quality, ensure the total efficiency of the system.

All hospitals are different and they require an installation according to their communication needs. Patients and sanitary staff need a quick and flexible system, easy to use as well as to install, and with several programmation levels to fit the parameters in each particular installation.The SMA systems combine these conditions. The use of the EIB bus and the easy installation standards allow to co-ordinate the elements to solve all the needs in a Hospital. The centrals, room terminals and programmable remote units combine to offer a communication system in the service of the patients and sanitary staff. Furthermore, by means of the CC-132 control central, all the parameters can be immediately personalised.The possibilities of installation are unlimited, from the most single installation in few rooms hospitals, to the most sophisticated hospital centres of several buildings.
