Dow Corning@ 9161 Flit Plug Encapsulant is a white,lovY viscosity base which cures to a silicone rubber uponthe addition of catalyst. The material has beenformulated especially for the encapsulation of BoltedCouplers - also called Flit Plugs - used in miningequipment. Dow Corning::§) 9161 Flit Plug ::ncapsulant keepsdust and dirt away from connec:ors, effectivelyminimising the risk of arcing. Tr:e flexibility of therubber absorbs any cable movement under operatingconditions so that the integrity of the connection ismaintained.

MIXING AND CURING

There is enough catalyst in the kit to cure all the base. When it is notintended to use all the base at once, then 4 parts of catalyst shouldbe added to 100 parts of the base.

When catalysed in this way the mixture may be used for up to15 minutes, cure being effected aher about 40 minutes.
