The July 4th Weekend was a huge success for the Activities Committee! A lot of hard work and planning went into the parade by our sub committee volun-teers. Many of the members commented that this years parade was one of the nicest that they have seen. We appreciate all of the beautiful and unique en-trees of the floats, ATV’s, side by sides and golf carts. The judges definitely had a tough decisions who would place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the main categories. (Thanks so much to the Judges for volunteering your time) Thank you to all the Committees, Clubs and individuals for participat-ing. Your entries were awesome! We also had a great turn out for the poker run on Sunday. Almost 200 par-ticipated in the trail ride and over $1200 was given in cash prizes (not to men-tion all of the attendance prizes) Thanks to Lenny Walters for being our cook that day and his helper Roger. Marvina Wyman helped keep us all cook with ice clothes and cashiering (bless you Marvina) Like always, Ranch Riders were there helping us….Marking trails and doing everything to assist to as-sure we have a successful run. We also had 4 first responders on the run to take care of anyone if there happened to be a medical emergency. Thank you so much 1st responders. Know you were present gave us peace of mind. “Special Thanks” To all that participated in the Ranch Jail activities. Also, a special thanks to deputies Byron, Rick and Ron. Good Job! Proceeds of $192.75 went to the Employee Appreciation Committee.

Ranch Riders Club wants to thank all who helped with the club’s work projects and activi-

ties over the holiday weekend. The RRC was happy to assist the Activities Committee

with the Sunday poker run. The RRC flagged 15 miles of trails early Sunday morning.

Activities prepared the food and worked with the RRC volunteers to sign ‘em up and check

them back in! Feedback from our riders was extremely positive and everyone seemed to

have a great time in spite of the heat and dust. We tried a few new procedures. A com-

puter spreadsheet designed by Mel and Sandy Hollandsworth was used for the first time

and worked flawlessly with the poker run operation. Because of the heat, we eliminated

the route stops. Both of these helped speed up the lines at the end of the poker run. Over

two hundred machines rode the route with no accidents. There was great food and many

attendance prizes.

The two deluxe mountain bicycles that were raffled off by the RRC were won by Rachel

Marshal and Genny Wyman. Half the proceeds from this raffle went to the Disaster Relief

Fund, which included the Joplin and other area tornados disasters. Thank you all who

bought raffle tickets and attended this event.

Over the last two weeks, many miles of trails were repaired with the skid steer that was

donated to the RRC. Several people ran the machine, rolled the larger rock from the trails

and cut back the slapper brush.

The RRC put together two floats for the parade Saturday evening under the directions of

team captain Debbie Bossaller. With her leadership the RRC was rewarded FIRST PLACE

in the float division of the parade.

Lots pictures were taken of the many happy participants of the poker run and parade.
