Please note: As a result of more stringent legal regulations and judgements regarding product liability, we are

obliged to point out certain risks that may arise when products are used under extraordinary operating

    conditions.

The mechanical design is based on the environmental conditions as stipulated in ETS 300 019-1-4, which

includes the static mechanical load imposed on an antenna by wind at maximum velocity.

Extraordinary operating conditions, such as heavy icing or exceptional dynamic stress (e.g. strain caused by

oscillating support structures), may result in the breakage of an antenna/RCU or even cause it to fall to the

ground. These facts must be considered during the site planning process.

The installation team must be properly qualified and also be familiar with the relevant national safetyregulations.

The details given in our data sheets have to be followed carefully when installing the antennas, RCUs

    and accessories.

The limits for the coupling torque of connectors, recommended by the connector manufacturers must

    be obeyed.

Any previous datasheet issues have now become invalid.

Please note: Separate grounding of the RCU is not needed if the RCU is fixed to an antenna with proper earthing. Please assure that earthing of the antenna has been carried out according to all relevant localregulations.

Description of the interface (protective cap removed):

To set the downtilt angle exactly, you must look horizontally at the

scale. The lower edge of the gear-wheel must be used for alignment.

    Instructions for RCU Installation

Attaching the RCU (Remote Control Unit) for remote-controlled downtilt adjustment:

Push the attachment nut of theRCU down towards the housing.

Place the RCU carefully over theadjustment spindle, observing thecorrect alignment of the RCU withregards to the antenna, i.e. the flatsurfaces of the attachment fixtureon the antenna side and thoseinside the RCU housing must lieflat against each other.

Push-up the RCU carefully to thestop at the antenna.

Please note!Do not twist the RCU during

attaching to the antenna, as thismay damage the adjustment

    spindle.

    Tighten the RCU attachment nutusing a torque-wrench; wrenchwidth = 41 mm,min. torque = 15 Nm,max. torque = 18 Nm.

Connect the RCU control cableimmediately after attachment ofthe RCU. The tightening torquefor fixing the control cable con-nector must be 0.5 1.0 Nm(hand-tightened).

    Please note!

In cases where a mechanicaldowntilt unit is installed, this

must not be set for a downtiltof more than 14 degrees.

    Clean the thread surface.

    Apply the mounting-paste evenly

onto the full circumference of thethread as illustrated in the figure.

    Note!Avoid ingestion and contact

    with eyes.

In case of contact with eyesrinse thoroughly with plenty of

water and seek medical advice.Avoid long-term contact with

skin.In case of contact with skin

wash off with soap and water.

Tech Assembly Paste differentpacking sizes by companyWEICON GmbH & Co. KG,Knigsberger Str. 225, D-48157Mnster, http://www.weicon.de

Twist off the protective cap com-pletely from the antenna.

    Check the proper function of

the phase shifter over theentire adjustment range by

twisting the adjustment wheelin such a way, that the spindle

    moves completely in and out.

Reset the downtilt to 0 degree.

Completely remove the blackadjustement wheel by simplypulling it downwards.

Connect a control cable to the daisy chain input ofthe RCU.

The tightning torque for fixing the connector must be0.5 1.0 Nm (hand-tightened).

The connector should be thightened by hand only!

Please note: If the daisy chain output is not used,do not remove the daisy chain termination.

For the daisy chain solution, remove the daisy chaintermination and attach control cable to interconnectwith the daisy chain input of the subsequent RCU.

Please note: Do not remove the daisy chain ter-

    mination of last RCU device.
