Dear Colleagues:
The role of the DHS has grown increasingly since its establishment in 2002. Nothing is more important than protecting American citizens both at home and abroad and IQPC is committed to providing a platform that will help both support and prepare American security officials on a wide variety of focus areas.
“DHS must be agile and vigilant in continually adapting to evolving threats and hazards. We must stay one step ahead of the next attack, the next cyber attack, and the next natural disaster. In the homeland security world, no news is good news, and no news is often the
result of the hard work, vigilance, and dedication of the men and women of DHS who prevent bad things you never hear about, or at least help the public protect itself and recover from
the storm we cannot prevent.” -Secretary Jeh Johnson, Department of Homeland Security
In order to defeat constantly evolving threats, the US must remain on the cutting edge, and constantly advance its multi-layered detection capabilities. IQPC has provided a discussion based platform to encourage and promote advancement, in critical areas of homeland security focus, for 9 years. This year’s event will center on the five most important areas of focus for the DHS and other homeland security oriented organizations: Science and Technology, Counterterrorism, Border Management and Immigration, Cyber Security, and Disaster Relief & Emergency Preparedness.
Homeland Security Week 2014 will feature presentations, discussions, and technology demonstrations on:
• DHS Advanced Fusion centers
• Collaborating on Joint Border Operations
• The evolving role of cybersecurity in critical infrastructure protection
• Implementing interoperable first responder communication capabilities
• New equipment and technologies available to federal, state, and local law enforcement
Utilizing interactive keynote presentations, large scale panel discussions, project updates, case studies, intimate round tables, product demonstrations, and free presentation theater sessions, Homeland Security Week 2014 will be the educational platform to obtain all you need to know about the future of homeland security. Departmental policy makers, uniformed service leaders, law enforcement and industry partners will gather in Washington D.C. to network, share best practices and expose potential paths to analyze the homeland security mission.
We hope you will join us for this year’s Homeland Security Week 2014 to experience the premier event in US security.
The speakers, sponsors and the IQPC team all look forward to seeing you in October for Homeland Security Week 2014!
Sincerely,
Tyler Baylis Divisional Director IQPC [email protected]
