8 Things To Look ForWhen You Book A Marriage Hall
Understand rental costs. Marriage halls charge a fixed cost and a variable cost. Know what the variable costs are. Example: Electricity, Housekeeping, equipment rental etc.
Some marriage halls will ask you
to book for a minimum of two days during the
wedding season. They will also
charge a hefty deposit in cash. Make sure you know the gory
details upfront.
Find out what is the marriage hall’s guest capacity. Before you call a marriage hall, make a list of guests who will not hang around (floating guests) and a separate list of guests who will stay longer.
Some marriage halls will throw in some
freebies such as free room rentals for
the bride and the groom’s families. Don’t hesitate to negotiate if you
want to get the best deal.
Find out if the marriage hall allows you to use vendors of your choice for catering, decoration, and other services. Some marriage halls insist you use their chosen vendor(s).
Fire and safety standards are critical. Ask to
see permits and inspection
reports from the local
Corporation.
Does the marriage hall have enough parking space? Ignore this question at your own risk! You don’t want unhappy guests. Also find out if valet parking is available.
Budget about 20% of the total
cost towards taxes and
regulatory fee. Don’t be
surprised when you look at the
final bill.
We curated a list of 35 marriage halls in Chennai. You will find all
the details, including rental price, in our in-depth list.
