7th GANDIA BLASCO INTERNATIONAL OUTDOOR FURNITURE DESIGN CONTEST

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTGANDIA BLASCO announces its 7th International Outdoor Furniture Design Contest.

PARTICIPATIONParticipants must be design students or young professionals, aged between 18 and 35 years.

Members of the panel of judges will not be able to participate nor people with family ties to them or who maintain stable professional relationships with them.

SUBJECTThe work to be done is the design of a Chill Out space for outdoor use ( i.e. tables, beds, pouff s, cushions...).

REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROJECTThe projects must be industrially reproducible. The use of wood is excluded.

Designs must be original and they have not been entered in any other contests or published previously.

The participants will be able to make any necessary enquiries until the date 08/08/2012 by means of the e-mail address gbconcurso@gandiablasco.com.

DOCUMENTATION TO BE PRESENTEDA) A sealed envelope indicating the title of the design and containing the following documents:- Name, address and telephone number- Photocopy of ID card- Curriculum Vitae- A signed declaration that the entered design is original and has not been entered in any other contests or published previously.

B) A fi le with the identifi cation title on its cover, containing: -A complete description of the project:I. Description of the product and details of its construction.II. Approximate evaluation of the manufacturing costs. -A3 Panels on a stiff support (minimum of 2 and maximum of 3):I. Contoured plans of the design: Floors, elevations and sections.II. Technical details that explain the construction of the product.III. Isometric perspectives, rendered images or photographs.

The presentation of a prototype will be taken into account in the decision of the jury.

Projects must be well packaged, with no visible means of identifying the contestants, except the title.

RIGHTS OF THE DESIGNERThe projects are the intellectual property of the contestants, who will be able to protect their designs by means of the corresponding registration of intellectual property before its submission.

In any case, GANDIA BLASCO may off er special recognition to the designers of valued works, in that they will have the possibility to participate in the industrial exploitation of them, by means of signing the corresponding contracts to give over or license their industrial property rights.

GANDIA BLASCO reserves the right to use the material for reproduction in publications or magazines, making mention of its designer.

THE JURYA jury will be formed for the evaluation of the presented designs, made up of professionals related to the world of design and the industrial sector of furniture.

The jury will make its decision by majority vote.

The jury will be authorised to resolve any questions about aspects not covered in these guidelines, as well as all questions that may arise in relation to this contest.

The date for the meeting of the jury and the presentation of prizes will be made known to all contestants on the GANDIA BLASCO website, www.gandiablasco.com.

CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIESThe closing date for projects is 8th August 2012.

DELIVERY AND COLLECTION OF PROJECTSProjects may be delivered personally or by registered post or by courier.

Works will be able to be collected by their designers from 1st October 2012 to 31st December 2012.

After this date, it will be understood that the contestant relinquishes all claims on them and that they can be destroyed.

The current legal deduction will be applied.

The jury will be able to make honourable mentions of those works which they wish to highlight in some way without awarding a cash sum.

The prize will be able to be declared null and void if the majority of the jury so decides.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULESThe jury’s decision will be fi nal.

The organisers accept no responsibility for any claims that may be made for compensation for damage, delays or losses of deliveries.

Participation in this contest presupposes full acceptance of these rules.

VII CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE DISEÑO DE MOBILIARIO DE EXTERIOR

CONVOCATORIAGANDIA BLASCO convoca el VII Concurso Internacional de Diseño de Mobiliario de Exterior.

PARTICIPACIÓNLos participantes deberán ser estudiantes o jóvenes profesionales del diseño, con edades comprendidas entre los 18 y 35 años.

No podrán participar en el concurso los miembros del jurado ni personas con lazos familiares o que mantengan con aquellos relaciones profesionales estables.

TEMAEl trabajo a realizar consistirá en el diseño de un espacio Chill Out para exterior ( p. ej. mesas, camas, pufs, cojines...).

REQUISITOS DE LOS PROYECTOSLos proyectos deben ser reproducibles industrialmente. Queda excluido el uso de madera.

Es imprescindible que las propuestas sean inéditas y que no se hayan presentado a otros concursos o publicado anteriormente.

DOCUMENTACIÓN A ENTREGARA) Sobre cerrado en el que fi gurará el lema de la propuesta y que contendrá los siguientes documentos:-Nombre, dirección y teléfono.-Fotocopia DNI.-Currículum Vitae.-Declaración fi rmada de que el producto presentado es inédito y no ha sido presentado a otros concursos ni publicado anteriormente.

B) Carpeta con el lema de identifi cación en su portada que contenga: - Memoria explicativa del proyecto:I. Descripción del producto y detalles constructivos.II. Evaluación aproximada del coste de fabricación. - Paneles A3 sobre soporte rígido (mínimo de 2 y máximo de 3):I. Planos acotados de la propuesta: Plantas , alzados y secciones.II. Detalles técnicos que expliquen la construcción de producto.III. Perspectivas isométricas, imágenes renderizadas o fotografías.

La entrega de un prototipo supondrá un valor añadido en la decisión del jurado.

Estos se presentarán correctamente embalados, sin ninguna consignación de datos identifi cativos de los concursantes, salvo el lema.

DERECHOS DE AUTORLos proyectos son propiedad intelectual de los concursantes, que podrán proteger sus diseños por medio del correspondiente registro de propiedad intelectual antes de su entrega.

En cualquier caso, GANDIA BLASCO podrá ofrecer a los autores de las obras merecedoras de un especial reconocimiento la posibilidad de participar de la explotación industrial de las mismas, mediante la suscripción de los correspondientes contratos de cesión o licencias de sus derechos de propiedad industrial.

GANDIA BLASCO se reserva el derecho de utilizar el material para reproducirlo en publicaciones o revistas, haciendo mención de su autor.

JURADOPara la valoración de las propuestas presentadas se constituirá un jurado, integrado por profesionales relacionados con el mundo del diseño y el sector industrial del mueble.

El jurado decidirá por mayoría su procedimiento de voto.

El jurado queda facultado para resolver sobre aspectos no contemplados en estas bases, así como todas las cuestiones que puedan suscitarse con motivo de este concurso.

La fecha de reunión del jurado y la entrega de premios serán puestas en conocimiento de todos los concursantes en la web de GANDIA BLASCO, www.gandiablasco.com.

PLAZO DE PRESENTACIÓNEl plazo de presentación de los proyectos fi nalizará el 08 de agosto de 2012.

ENTREGA Y RECOGIDA DE LOS PROYECTOSLos proyectos pueden presentarse personalmente o por correo certifi cado o Mensajero.

Todo el material presentado deberá ser embalado correctamente, no debiendo aparecer ningún dato identifi cativo de los concursantes.

Los trabajos presentados podrán ser retirados por sus autores a partir de 01 de octubre de 2012 hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2012.

Transcurrido este plazo, se entenderá que la persona concursante renuncia a ellos, y podrán ser destruidos.

El jurado podrá hacer menciones honorífi cas sin cuantía económica de aquellos trabajos que quiera destacar en algún aspecto.

El premio podrá ser declarado desierto si así lo considera la mayoría del jurado.

ACEPTACIÓN DE LAS BASESEl fallo del jurado será inapelable.

Los organizadores no asumen responsabilidades de las que se puedan deducir reclamaciones de indemnizaciones por daños, retrasos o pérdidas de los envíos.

La participación en este concurso supone la plena aceptación de estas bases.
