ELA Distance Learning Assignment
Instructions:As we come to the end of our school year, let’s take a moment to think about where we’ve been and where we’re going. Goal setting is an important part of being successful in school and in life. In the space below, please create one goal for ELA next year, and one goal that you want to accomplish in your personal life. This could be anything from turning in work on time, using your planner, or saving enough money to buy something you really want.
When writing down your goal, be sure it is SMART:
S – Specific
M – Measurable
A – Action‐oriented
R – Reasonable
T – Timely
ELA Goal:1. What do you want to do?
2. By what date do you want to complete your goal?
3. How will you accomplish your goal?
Personal Goal:1. What do you want to do?

EVMS 7th Grade Science Distance LearningWeek 10: June 15-19
This week is all about building a Newton Scooter. I have attached the same videos as last week to get ideas about how to build a scooter. Get creative, merge ideas and use materials laying around the house. The basic idea of the project is to make a vehicle that is self propelled using Newton’s Third Law of Motion (action/reaction). The “scooter” should travel at least 1 meter (approx. 3ft) on its own power with no hills (ramp) or pushing. Common items are: mousetrap, rubber band, spring, and air propelled versions. Search the internet for a version you think you can create. Zoom meeting invites will be sent out to show off cars. I hope you have a wonderful summer and thank you for all your effort this year and especially staying engaged during the distance learning portion of the school year .
*Please don’t spend lots of money on this project. Again, search around the house for materials or a few items from the Dollar Store. Monday: Brainstorm Newton scooter ideas. Make a list of the
potential models. Make a sketch of your “scooter.” Newton Scooter video video 2 (project examples) Google link to pictures of different versions of the scooter project.
Tuesday: Finish sketch. Gather the materials needed.
Wednesday: Construction of Scooter.
Thursday: Construction of Scooter and/or modification(s.)
Friday: Test and take a video/picture(s) of your “scooter.”Zoom meeting 10 a.m. for project demonstrations
If you have any questions please contact Mr. Howe ([email protected]) or Mr. Hanson ([email protected]). We will be available during regular school hours and will reply as quickly as we can.

EVMS Social Studies Distance Learning Calendar Week of
6/15-6/19
7th Grade Section
Introduction
Week ten will be posted in Google Classroom and/or emailed to families for students to access. It will also be available in hard copies at lunch drop-offs. Students can turn in work through Google Classroom, by emailing teachers with completed work, or kept at home in a binder until it can be turned in to teachers. There are simple rubrics for each assignment to guide students in their learning. Teachers will also provide feedback through Google Classroom and/or email as well.
This week 7th-grade students will be completing a one-page reflection on the last ten weeks of Washington State History distance learning. This reflection can be done in two well written paragraphs. Remember, grades can only IMPROVE and nobody can have a grade lower because of this assignment. Therefore, students will be able to do these assignments to improve grades ONLY.

PE Distance Learning Resources
Dear students and family members,
The physical education team at our school is working with resources from OPENPhysEd.org and other resources to help you stay physically active and healthy while our schools are closed. In order to meet physical education goals during this time students must be physically active for 30-60 minutes each day. Use this physical activity log to record your activity time.
Remember, activity time doesn’t have to happen all at once. You can add up your total activity throughout the day to equal 60 minutes. Students, at the end of each day self -evaluate if you are meeting the day’s total activity. Then, return the finished log to your physical education teacher at the end of the two-week period.
We’ll be providing materials on Tuesday and Friday each week and available to answer questions anytime.
Your physical education teachers would also like you to check Google Classroom for assignments. From there you’ll be able to download and print physical education resources that are fun and can be done at home.
For those that don’t have internet access, We will provide a paper copy (packet) that can be picked up from the bus drop sites. Then, finished packets can be dropped off at the bus drop sites at the end of the two-week period.
Thank you for your cooperation. Stay active and stay well.
Sincerely,Your Physical Ed. Staff: Tony Bevacqua, Angie Bordwell, Mark Chalich, Cathy Inouye
By staying active and completing this physical activity log you’re meeting the following SHAPE America National Physical Education Grade-level Outcomes:
Grades 7-8 (Engages in Physical Activity)Standard 3 [M2.7-8] Participates in a physical activity twice a week outside of physical education class (7); Participates in physical activity three times a week outside of physical education class (8).Additional Points:
