Charolais herd this summer with the Altwasser Charolais herdfrom Lumby, BC. Altwasser had one of the recognized herds inBC and we are very excited to have incorporated their herdinto our herd. So, together with our Spring Side cows, we’vehad an exciting and thrilling fall show season. Today we bothfeel really blessed and excited to offer you Charolais bulls fromthese highly successful herds.

Because of friends and customers in the Lloydminister area, we wentto the Lloyd Stockade - what a great and fun show! Congrats to Lloydmin-ister on a great event!! At the Lloyd Stockade, 27Y, was the Red Angus “King of the Ring”.We always talk about the importance of cow families, well 8R is certainlyone of our top producers. Another awesome Hamaruka son, 205Y is a mid February bull thatgoes back to Poundmaker and Make My Day. 205Y’s dam, 84R, has raised us two daughters in our herd, a daugh-ter for Corona Creek, and a son to Lloyd Watson at Neilburg. I really believe the secret to the “cow busi-ness” is just that, the cows, especially cows like122Y’s dam, 536T, who last year had a top notchFully Loaded son that sold to Perry Hart’s NuHorizon Angus from Cupar.

When we toured the Altwasser herd earlier this summer, we ab-solutely fell in love with the dam, 21P. She is a power cow and although87Y is a younger bull in the sale, he has good performance weaning off at800 lbs in September! A maternal brother sold to Douglas Lake CattleCo.

King Ranch 70T was the lead off bull for San Dan Charolais andwas Reserve Grand Champion Pen at the Stettler Bull Congress in 2008. We were only able to use this bull for breeding one year, but we arevery happy with the calf crop he left us - they have muscle expressionand good hair coats.

We are extremely pleased with our Overflow sire and we couldn’t bemore excited about his son’s and daughters. Overflow’s ability to travel andmaintain condition is tremendous. Overflow went directly from the pastureto the Lloydminister Stockade and was the Senior Red Angus Bull Champion. When we try a new sire we want to see what he can do, and what bet-ter females to sample him on than the Gravity daughters like 137Y’s dam,41P. This fall, Dean Artzen looked at our show string we were taking out -he was very impressed and asked if we were going to show Overflow.Well... I had not really thought about it. To make a long story short, hewent from the pasture to Lloyd Stockade where he was named SeniorRed Angus Bull Champion! That is one of Overflows greatest things, maintaining his conditionand super feet. DON’T OVERLOOK THESE OVERFLOW SONS!

Nicole wrote an essay about why she wanted to buy a Red Anguscow. She sent it to the Red Angus Promotional Society and won the con-test. Here is the cow she bought from our friends the “Emery’s” at CampCreek. This March bull certainly has the muscle shape and volume to de-velop into a great bull. USE HIM ON HEIFERS OR COWS!

Wildcard, purchased by Glengary Angus from Soo Line for $40,000for their fall breeding program, is the outcross bull we leased from Glen-gary for our spring breeding (I love it when a plan comes together!). Wildcard’s full brother was the Reserve Supreme Champion at theWorld Angus Forum at Spruce Meadows right behind a Fully Loaded son. Its really exciting for us to be able to use these “Elite” Herd Sires.

The Tami cow family has been a total stand out in our herd and alsofor Avelyn Angus. Together last year we flushed 192Y’s grandam and hadthree outstanding sons - one was the high seller to Corona Creek atBashaw for $10,250 while another Tami son is working for Broken SawAngus in Smithers, BC. 287Y has really come on strong in the bull pen - we are moreimpressed with him every day and, in fact, 278Y’s last score from us wasa 3++! Standing nice and square on strong legs and good solid feet andsporting a stellar pedigree including the well known Ms Mat 99P, he’swhat raising cattle is all about and will leave progeny worthy of any herd.

We leased Wild Card from Glengary after they purchasedhim from Soo Line for $40,000 to breed cows in their fall pro-gram. Wild Card has proven to be very valuable to us siringmoderate birth weight sons with excellent growth. 265Y’s dam, 679S, has done a great job for us withdaughters in our herd and a son sold to Parmley Family Angus.

Family Farm and bringing to you the 7th Annual “Tip theScale” Bull Sale. It sure is hard to believe where the timehas gone - it seems like just yesterday we were takingdown from the 6th annual sale and already here we arenow preparing for the 7th annual sale!

2011 has been a great year for all farmers this year,cattle prices rose higher than they had been in the pastdecade, there was lots of rain that allowed for great grassconditions and crops, and grain prices have been on theup swing as well. There are more and more younger peo-ple wanting to get into agriculture more than ever this year,as they can see the optimism and are actually excitedabout farming now. These are all great to see and havebeen long overdue for all farmers, they can feel peaceknowing there are generations coming up that are wantingto take over and they know that there can be a chance thatthey can succeed at it. This is a very exciting time to beinvolved in agriculture and the future looks great.

We, at Goad Family Angus, believe in the future ofagriculture and that our bulls will work for you and lookgreat for years to come. This year, again, we are feedinga pellet ration from Country Junction Co-op in Wetaskiwinthat has ZERO grain (no starch). We want the bulls togrow and develop and not burn out. 110Y performed really well on his dam all summer and after he wasweaned he just continued to keep performing and growing and has ahuge amount of spring of rib and depth that he will pass to his calves. We purchased the dam, 3U, from the Tom Arnett Dispersal becauseof her strong cow family. The 101M cow is another great producing cowthat Mike owns. Kristen bought another daughter of 101M and she hasbeen a top producing cow in our herd. We sold 3U’s first calf to FlagstaffFarms last year.

Walkabout is a bull that we purchased from Ter-ron Farms for hismaternal strengths and add a new twist to some of our bloodlines. BrylorPanama 69P, Walkabout’s sire, has been a huge influence on the Ter-ronherd as many of their top sellers in their bull the last couple years havebeen out of Panama daughters. Admired for his massive depth of body and his impressive feet, weare impressed how well Walkabout has done on his first calf crop. Bothhis sons and daughters have so many of his great features.

A standout from birth, 107Y brings fresh genetics and unique colorto the Red Angus breed. With his explosive muscle shape, depth of body,and great feet which he comes by naturally from his sire, he has HERD

SIRE written all over him. The dam, 107T, has a great disposition. Shewas a member of our “Pen of Five” that won Grand Champion in Cam-rose and was shown at a couple local shows with great success. We feelthat Walk the Line brings it all together in a great package and his colorand fresh genetics make him that much more exciting.

Fully Loaded x Mulberry, is exciting but add 44R (in my opinion, oneof the best producing cows the Vikse herd) into his pedigree not once, buttwice, doubles the punch! We have two producing cows out of 44R andthey have the best udders in our herd which they get from their dam. Ihave no doubt that all the M daughters will have fantastic udders. M has a wide hip and a lot of muscle that carries deep down into hisquarter; he has a smooth shoulder that will allow for easy calving. We sold the sire, Canadian 2W, to Broken Saw Farms, Smithers, BC.

Tarantula has a lot of shape, a nice smooth shoulder, lots of depthand a big hip shape on him that carries down deep into his quarter. Hegets a lot of his great qualities from his grandsire, Pursuit, who has beendoing a great job for Cinder Angus and Lonestone Farms where he siredthe Reserve Champion Bull at Agribition last year for Cinder Angus. I purchased the dam of 111 Vikse at the “All AI’ed” Sale where shewas Grand Champion Heifer Calf that day. Be sure to ask Dave aboutthe name of this bull...

Daredevil is out of an “Elite” cow, 24M, that we first noticed when wepurchased her son, Canadian 24T, the bull that we have had great suc-cess with and still plays a huge impact on our herd even though he isgone now. Since purchasing 24M through the Tom Arnett Dispersal, she hasbeen a top cow in our herd and has had a son sell to Mac Creech. Daredevil, a bull that will add lots of length to his calves, will also givethem that extra boost of performance which he gets from his “Elite” dam.

We feel Homeboy will turn into a great HEIFER BULL. The dam of117Y is a female that we purchased from Vikses and was a member ofour Reserve Champion “Pen of Three” and Grand Champion “Pen ofFive” at the Camrose Bull Congress and Grand Champion “Pen of Three”at Stettler Bull Congress. 97T is a female that has lots of capacity andcontinues to do it year after year for us. Last year she raised a big bullcalf that sold to Carl Brockhoff through this sale and her first heifer calfsold to Dwajo Angus in the Northern Select as a bred heifer.

2. Bulls: Every animal entering the ring will be sold to the highest bid-der. In the case of a dispute the auctioneer’s decision is final.

3. Any changes from information in this catalogue will be announcedfrom the auction block, such changes will take precedence overprinted matter in the catalogue.

4. Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaseras soon as sold. Insurance will be available sale day.

5. Delivery: Free delivery of bulls to central points. We will winterbulls free of charge until May 1, 2012. Bulls left after this date willbe charged a fee of $1.50/day for board.

6. Liability: Everyone that attends the sale does so at their own riskwithout any liability to the owners.

7. Breeder’s GuaranteeAll animals sold are guaranteed breeders. Any animal that hasnot proven himself during the 2012 breeding season and was notneglected by the buyer can be returned and replaced with a war-ranty bull or given credit toward next year’s sale.
