Newly Baptized - We welcome into our faith community Owen James Hertel, son of Chris and Kelli, who was baptized at Saint Wendel Church on Sunday, July 24, 2016.
Many Thanks - I, Aubrey Dyson, want to give a huge thank you to all of Saint Wendel Parish. Thanks to all of the never-ending support from all of you, I was able to embark on the journey of a lifetime. I was able to play music for amazing crowds in cities all around Europe, places I had only dreamt of. My trip with the Indiana Ambassadors of Music was the best time of my life. I will never forget this experience and all the people who helped make it happen.
Share Your Garden Vegetables - Bring your fresh garden vegetables to Saint Wendel School on Sundays or Monday mornings during these summer months. The vegetables will be picked up at 8:00 am on Monday morn-
ings and delivered to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Evansville for distribution. Saint Wendel Catholic School News - Saint Wendel still has a few openings in the Kindergarten through 8th grade program. If you are interested in learning a little more about Saint Wendel Catholic School or are interested in enrolling please contact, Mrs. Scheu at 812-963-3958.
Thoughts on Stewardship “Take care to guard against all greed, for though one
may be rich, one’s life does not consist of
possessions.” (Luke 12:15) The Gospel message today is so contrary to our modern culture where advertising continually tries to convince us that our value lies in the things we possess. Jesus showed us that our true value lies in the way we live our lives. He challenges us to not store up or hoard material possessions, but rather to live a grateful and generous lifestyle.

Dear Parishioners,
Yes, it is school time, Social time, and
Fall Festival time again. We would like to
thank all the members of Saint Wendel
Parish who have supported the Fall Festi-
val in the past. It not only is a great fund-
raiser but a great opportunity for parish-
ioners to work together and become acquainted with new
people. We have been chairpersons for the Fall Festival
booth for the past eight years and have decided that it is
time to give up these responsibilities. Mackenzie Stolz has
accepted this task as the new chairperson. We know that
you will continue to support her and Saint Wendel Parish.
If you have any questions considering the Fall Festival or
perhaps want to volunteer to help in some way, please
call Mackenzie at 812-449-1038.
Thanks again for your help and support,
Elise Koester and Judy Blankenberger
Dear Parishioners,
The Diocese of Evansville is a
vibrant, diverse, and faithful Catholic
community with a proud history. We are
blessed to have a diocese with 46 par-
ishes. We have approximately 40 priests
ministering to the more than 29,000
households and 26 schools.
With so many faithful people counting on our parishes,
schools, and ministries, it is important that we continue to
plan, maintain, and build for the future. Our next step is
to provide the funding that will allow us to implement the
plans to strengthen our parishes, schools, and ministries.
The Stewards of God’s Grace Capital Campaign will do
just that.
On Monday, August 8, at 6:00 pm in the Saint Wendel
School Cafetorium or on Tuesday, August 9, at 6:00 pm
in the Saint Francis Xavier Cafeteria please join me as I
share the vision and answer your questions. Together, we
will embark on our shared parishes-diocesan capital
campaign in support of our faith family and our future as
Catholics in the Diocese of Evansville.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Charles Thompson
Bishop of the Diocese Evansville
