God speaks to us every day!
1. He speaks in creation: "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made..." (Romans 1:20)
2. God speaks through His God- breathed Word which is "useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness". (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
3. He speaks to us through His Holy Spirit, helping us apply Scripture to each situation in our lives.(John 14:26) 4. God speaks through other believers who help us live in ways that please God. (Titus 2)
5. He speaks through circumstances, opening and closing doors and some-times using supernatural means. (Acts 16:6-10)

Christmas is a time of love and gift giving…please share
your abundance by giving a gift to the Society of St. Vincent
de Paul so that those who do not have clothes and food can
share in the blessings of Christmas.
In today’s Gospel John the Baptist says, “Whoever has
two cloaks should share with the person who has none.
And whoever has food should do likewise…”

CRY WHEN YOU NEED TO
If you are making progress in your grief and you
are beginning to have some good days, don’t be up-
set because the holidays set you back a little. That’s normal.
If you are in the early weeks and months of grief, believe that
every future holiday season won’t necessarily be as bad as this
year. Go through the holidays in ways that help you best to get
through them. Don’t listen to the non-bereaved and all their
“expert” advice. They’re advising you to behave in ways that
make them comfortable.
Ignore them. Do what works for you and your family.
Remember, cry when you need to and laugh when you can.
End Domestic Violence NOW!
Domestic Violence Hotline
1-800-799-SAFE
Domestic Violence incidents rise during
difficult financial times. If you see a
family in trouble, please call the hotline.
The Catholic Parishes in Vicariate I, Chicago Archdiocese and
the Joliet Diocese, are sponsoring a pro-life ad in the Daily Her-
ald to mourn the 46th anniversary of the Roe Wade Supreme
Court decision legalizing abortion through all nine months of
pregnancy. Since the Roe v Wade decision in 1973, the lives of 60 mil-
lion innocent babies have been lost. Please consider contributing
$5.00 (minimum) toward the cost of the ad. Sponsors have the
option of listing their names in the ad or remaining anonymous. The ad will run on Sunday, January 13 and Sunday, January 20,
2019, full color, in the first section of the newspaper. The Daily
Herald distribution area includes: Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake
Counties.
A member of the Respect Life Committee will be at all the
Masses on January 5 & 6, 2019 to accept your donations. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

known as RCIA). This process is designed for those who have never been baptized, for those baptized
in another Christian faith, or for those Catholics who were baptized but
never had any formal teaching or training in their Catholic Faith.
