Spring, a perfect time for floods Flash floods can cause many damages and destruction including the

lost of human lives. Rivers can easily overflow the banks covering ground that normally wouldn’t be immersed in water.

An overflowing river is a menace for those living around it’s banks and is an impediment for people to cross to the other shore.

The bible uses water as a symbol in different ways, some of them are used to point out an obstacle in the life of Israel’s people to advance or to attain the blessings that are at the other side of the flooded river.

The bible speaks of a great flood, the Euphrates River, the Jordan River, The Sea of Galilee; that at some time were an impediment or a menace for some people of God to come and posses the promises of God, to come and possess their promised land.

You have a promised land, and you have some “Jordan” rivers to cross to arrive at that place where the blessings of God are: your promised land.

Page 4: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your Word for Spring Time, 2015 I’m sharing with you a word that God has given me

recently that is right for this season.

This word is in seven parts.

One, or all of them could be for you, just compare your actual situation and let the Holy Spirit guide you in passing to the other side.

Even if none of them are pertaining to you, I still encourage you to receive them, as family members or friends could be in need of this word, and you would be the one delivering this message to them, helping them to have their feet in their promised land.

Page 5: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s promise:

Page 6: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

1. Noah and the flood.

Page 7: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

As with Noah, God has found you just through His Son Jesus Crist.

Genesis 7:1 (NKJV)

The Great Flood

7 Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

Page 8: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your circumstance: You are surrounded by all sort of problems, and

ungodly people that make your life impossible.

You have been asking the Lord to take you out of this situation.

You have your family and beloved ones with you, who are compromising with the world,

But to you, He has find you JUST in Him!

Page 9: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you: A sovereign act of God.

He has made you an impermeable ark, and to you and your family He is taking to safe place depositing you upon the rock of His Son, while He is flooding and flushing out the world around you.

You will see many people, calamities, troubles, old ungodly patterns, infirmities, bondages and the like supernaturally flushed away!

Page 10: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God is using you: To bring your beloved ones into His Kingdom. It

doesn’t matter if right now they are seeking God or not.

Main point here is: You are righteous in His eyes! And because of you, things will shift around and your beloved ones will feel the loving touch of God and will surrender their lives to their Creator.

You shine His love in the midst of darkness!

Page 11: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

2. God orders Jacob to return to Canaan

Page 12: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Genesis 31:1-3(NKJV) Jacob Flees from Laban

31 Now Jacob heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, “Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s, and from what was our father’s he has acquired all this wealth.” 2 And Jacob saw the countenance of Laban, and indeed it was not favorable toward him as before. 3 Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you.”

Page 13: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Jacob crosses the Euphrates RiverGenesis 31:21 (NIV)21 So he fled with all he had, crossed the

Euphrates River, and headed for the hill country of Gilead.

Page 14: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your circumstance: God has blessed you in the country that you are now

and has prospered you greatly, however you are surrounded by a continuous assault on your finances; cheating, lying, manipulating, envy and controlling, is daily happening in your life .

You are controlled by the circumstances, and the situation is becoming unbearable.

Now God is telling you, your time has come and now you are to return to your place of origin.

Page 15: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you:

Time to go to your own Land.

It doesn’t matter if you did good or wrong, God has decreed its time for you to go back to your land.

It’s time for you to cross that limiting mighty “Euphrates”, leaving behind the chains that were keeping you in bondage.

Remember: He brought you to where you are now, but now He is taking you back home.

Page 16: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

The favor of God is upon you! Don’t worry because you have lost the favor of men.

Don’t fear them.

Because the FAVOR OF THE LORD is all around you, and is His pleasure to surround you and put His sign of protection on you, your family and all that belongs to you.

You will not loss anything when departing!

Just in Jacob’s case you will take everything!

Page 17: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God is using you: As the object where he is depositing His favor and His

divine protection.

People who are taking advantage of you, will come to realize that YOUR GOD indeed is God, and cares for all who belong to Him.

He will save you from many difficult situations to preserve you and your descendants as a people of His own.

Page 18: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

3. Jacob crosses the Jabbok River Genesis 32:22 (NKJV)

22 And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok.

Genesis 32:30-31 (NKJV)30 So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I

have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” 31 Just as he crossed over Penuel the sun rose on him, and he limped on his hip.

Page 19: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your circumstance: You are afraid of facing the consequences of some bad

decisions you did in your past. Fear and stress is surrounding you.

You have acknowledged before God your wrongdoing and received His forgiveness, now you want to ask forgiveness to those you have offended.

You are trying to “win” the favor of those people so you’ll be able to face them without risking your physical integrity.

Page 20: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Genesis 33:10 (ESV)

10 Jacob said, “No, please, if I have found favor in your sight, then accept my present from my hand. For I have seen your face, which is like seeing the face of God, and you have accepted me.

Jacob in here is saying that God favored him the previous night and now he has received unmerited favor from Esau his brother; he saw God and he is still alive, he was scared of his brother, but now he has seen his face and now he is favoring him.

Page 21: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you: Make your enemies be at peace with you!

The Lord has found pleasure in you, and as in Jacob case when he touched Laban’s and Esau's hearts, he is touching now the heart of your enemies to turn their hearts towards you in peace.

Page 22: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God is using you: His favor will go around and in front of you touching

everything that concerns to you.

That favor will bring benefit not just to you but to people who chose to befriend you,

God is using you to be an expander of His Kingdom by sharing with others and teaching them how to benefit from that unmerited favor.

God has make you a Peace Maker, and a Peace Keeper.

Page 23: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

4. The opening of the Red Sea.

Page 24: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

As with Moses, God has giving you power and authority,

and He expects you to used them!

Exodus 14:15-16 (NKJV)

15 And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. 16 But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

Page 25: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your circumstance:

You have come out of captivity, you have started your way to your promised land. Now a sea of problems and obstacles are keeping you away of it, and you feel that you are between the sea and the sword so to speak. (Back to captivity)

You know God, you know about His unfailing promises, you have experienced His mighty power of deliverance, you have tasted His anointing and you are crying to possess your promised land.

Page 26: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you:

Use your God’s given Power and Authority.

Stand in front of the sea facing you and lift up your holy hand towards it, in agreement with the Word and plan of God:

“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.” (Luke 10:19)

"Don't be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today.” (Exodus 14:13)

Page 27: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Exodus 14:21 (NKJV)

21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

Page 28: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Stand and see the salvation… You don’t even need to open your mouth!

If you know your authority, your enemy will know it and will back off.

Ephesians 6:12-14 (NKJV)

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Page 29: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

The closing of the Red Sea.

Page 30: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

He is using you: He has delivered you and healed you, and will let His

Holy Spirit blow over your sea of difficulties to open it up so you can pass though it on dried ground towards your promised land; then, you will be able to take others with you to their own lands.

You are God’s righteousness in Christ Jesus.

You will reign as a king on life, through Jesus Christ the Messiah.

Page 31: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

5. Israel crosses the Jordan River.

Page 32: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

5. Your Promised Land is at the other side of the river

Joshua 3:14-17 (NKJV)

14 So it was, when the people set out from their camp to cross over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people, 15 and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest), 16 that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho. 17 Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.

Page 33: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your circumstance:

You’ve seen your promised land, you aren’t at mount Nebo, you don’t want to stay at the place of contentment at the east of the Jordan River, you want to cross over to the Land of Blessing. You want to possess your promised land and receive all the blessings with it.

You well know this is your harvest time, but your Jordan is at flood stage, it’s turbulent, noisy and menacing

Page 34: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you:To use you as His holy priest who carries

His Holy Presence. So you can step on your river, stop its flow and cross to your land of blessing.

Isaiah 61:6 (NKJV)

6 But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, They shall call you the servants of our God.

1 Peter 2:5 (NKJV)

5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV)

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Page 35: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Articles in the Ark of the Covenant.

Hebrews 9:4 (NKJV)

4 which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

Page 36: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God is using you: In Genesis, God instruct Noah to make an ark of gopher

wood, once he an his family and animals where inside, God sealed it to save them from the flood.

In Exodus God instruct Moses to build up an ark of acacia wood, and keep in it the manna of His provision, Aaron’s rod symbol of God’s delegated authority, and the Tablets of the Law symbol of His Covenant.

In Joshua, the Priests carried the Ark of the Covenant in their shoulders, their feet touched the Jordan and this stopped its flow and Israel walked on dry ground.

And now, He has made you a priest unto Him, you are His Temple and contains His Holy Spirit.

Page 37: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God is using you: He has found you just, holy and sanctified by the blood

of The Lamb. You are qualified and able to face your river and as the Priests in Joshua you can step on it and stop its flow of problems and difficulties and see them disappear from your future (downstream) so you and others can pass on a dried ground without problems or hindrances, and nothing can stop you to get into your land and have the satisfaction of helping others to cross to their lands as well.

He is using you to help others to get to their destination, He is using you to display His Glory not just for the ones receiving your help to see, but to be a testimony to others that are standing by their river without a plan, without help, without a safe future. They will come to understand that Jesus is their hope for an integral salvation.

Page 38: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

6. Elijah and Elisha crossthe Jordan River

Page 39: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

2 Kings 2:6-8 (NKJV)

6 Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to the Jordan.”

But he said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So the two of them went on. 7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood facing them at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.8 Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.

Page 40: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your circumstance 1/2:

Are you and Elijah? You are an anointed person of God, you flow in the prophetic, you have

a strong discerning of spirits and the revelatory gifting is operating in you.

You have some people close to you and you are looking for the right one or ones to delegate power and authority to extend the ministry that The Lord has entrust you with.

You face the challenge to decide to whom you will delegate some of the responsibilities of your ministry.

Many of the members of your inner circle think they are fit to take the coming mantle, and you are asking God for revelation on how to proceed with your selection.

You have a promotion coming and you want to leave your ministry in good and anointed hands.

Page 41: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you 1/2: For the Elijahs

God will guide you to face a challenge in your ministry, many of the members of the group will not be able to keep the pace with you in the crossing of this Jordan to the Land of Blessings, to the land of increase. Just those who go along with you will see the power of the Lord operating in you being able to dry up the river of troubles an pass to the land of blessing.

Page 42: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God is using you 1/2: As an Elijah:

You are being used by God to guide others, to teach them the truth of the Gospel and to train them in the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

You are making room for others to come and be trained and see first hand the mighty works that God is doing through your ministry.

You are A Kingdom expander, A winner of souls in His hands.

Page 43: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

As in the case of Elisha, You are returning with authority!

Page 44: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your circumstance 2/2: Are you an Elisha?

You have been faithfully serving God in the place you are right now. You have used with wisdom and compassion the anointing and gifting that you have received from God for service.

You know the promises and plans of God for you, and you know that there is much more than this. You are enjoying the relationship with God, which has brought the release of His anointing, power and authority; but you are burning for a dimensional increase, you feel in the air you are ready for a promotion, that a higher level is soon to come on you and you don’t want to miss it.

You are serving in a ministry and you honor your leaders and have respect for them, but you know it’s time for you to branch out, God has promised it, and you perceived its the time for your departure. It’s time to grab your own mantle that God has prepared for you.

Page 45: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you 2/2: For the Elishas:

Despite certain opposition and false ideas of friends, God will show them wrong; He is starting to take you in this journey to become invested with the new mantle that God has for your shoulders.

When you return, ministers and people of God and even unbelievers will come to know that you have been empowered by the Spirit of God

Increment in miracles signs and wonders will magnify the Lord through this new mantle that is descending on you.

Godly and anointed people will come to associate with you in this new ministry that has been conferred to you.

Page 46: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God is using you 2/2: As an Elisha:

To encourage people in ministry and especially those who are under authority, to stick to obedience, loyalty and honoring their Leaders Teachers Pastors and those interceding for them.

He is displaying you as a model, copy of His Son, as you are being perfected.

Invitations to become a Speaker in different places are to increment.

Page 47: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Grab your mantle and used it in a dignified way to give Glory and Honor to God.

Page 48: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

7. Jesus walks on the sea and lands in Peter’s boat!

Page 49: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

John 6:16-21 (NKJV)

Jesus Walks on Water

16 Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, 17 got into the boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them. 18 Then the sea arose because a great wind was blowing. 19 So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.20 But He said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” 21 Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

Page 50: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Your circumstance: Every time you and your friends start to do something for

the Kingdom of God, things that the Lord has asked you to do; a great tempest arises and you feel about to sink and go down with your boat.

You row and row and your ministry boat does not advance, there is a constant tempest surrounding your boat, at times the tempest subside just enough to give you time to recover your physical strength.

You wonder what its wrong with you, where you have failed, why God is not intervening?

You know that you have no power to calm the tempest around you.

Page 51: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you: Give you an spiritual vision.

To open the eyes of your spirit, to give you a seer’s vision and open the eyes of your understanding so you may be able to see the Lord Jesus coming to help you in the middle of all your struggles. Once you can see him entering your boat, as you welcome Him, you will be able to sense Him as PEACE and strength

Page 52: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you: Redeeming your time.

Once He is in your boat, you will stop rowing (toiling); all the effort, all the energy, all the time that you have spend in the work of the Vineyard of the Lord, would be immediately rewarded.

Just as Peter and his friends were at once to his destiny: Capernaum; so he will take you to the place that you are destined to be at this moment.

Acceleration is on your schedule!

Page 53: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God’s plan for you: John 14:27 (NKJV)

27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Page 54: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

God is using you: He is preparing you.

The storm and trails in your life and ministry are used to strengthen you, transform you and to prepare you for the price of glory that God has for you.

Don’t focus on the trouble around, God is taking you supernaturally out of it and landing you in the place you are supposed to be.

Page 55: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

CONCLUSION: This is a time to stand

There are times when you need to speak. There are times when you need to shout. There are time when you need to plead. There are times when you need to show with your attitude

your believes. This is the time when you need to stand as a Priest of the

most High God. This is the time when you need to step with authority over

any power of the enemy. This is the time to step on the rivers blocking your way to

your land of blessing and see those waters be split up and dry up.

Page 56: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Peter walks on a stormy sea.

Page 57: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Matthew 14:25-33 (NKJV)

25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

Page 58: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Peter walks on water

29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

Page 59: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Jesus presence calms the storm. No words; Presence!

Even that Peter walk on the sea; both, using his bravery and faith, the stormy weather did not change at all, that’s why he got distracted, scared and sunk.

The boat can represent your ministry or your own self. The fact that Peter left the boat walking on the sea points out to the fact that even if we put out our self, it will not change the circumstances in our lives neither the ones around us.

But when Jesus entered the boat, (our lives or ministry) Peter and the rest of disciples saw that the wind stopped and the storm was over immediately, and they recognized the Deity of Jesus worshiping Him as the Son of God. No words, no commands, just His presence.

When Jesus comes into our boat, His only presence calms the storms and calms our fears bringing His peace in our lives.

This is to say that we need to continuously be filled with His Holy Presence.

He is the Prince of Peace.

Page 60: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Mark 4:35-41 (NKJV)Wind and Wave Obey Jesus

35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!”And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Page 61: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land
Page 62: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Jesus is coming to you. This is a time when the Lord is approaching you.

Be on your guard so you will be able to distinguish Him and welcome Him in your life.

He could calm the storm in which you are.

He could take you out of the storm and at once situate you in your promised land.

James 4:8 (NKJV)

8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Page 63: 7 ways of crossing to your promised land

Marco LafebreLearning to Prophesy

My hope is that you may have been encouraged, uplifted and edified through this word. I pray that the Spirit of Revelation be increased in you, that the revelatory gifting be operating in you in a mighty way so you can be a power tool in the hands of our Master Jesus Christ.
