Adjudicator: Dianne Leathem, Queensland, Australia Associate Member RAD -‐ Royal Academy of Dance (London), Registered Teacher Royal Academy of Dance, Affiliate Member ATOD (Australian Teachers of Dancing), Member Australian Dance Adjudicators Assn (ADA)

Dianne has adjudicated numerous Eisteddfods in Australia and New Zealand over 30 years including all styles of dance – solos, groups, and scholarships. Teaching for 38 years Dianne was Director of her own large studio in NZ, & in Australia Senior Teacher for Doyenne of dance, Averil Binzer & permanent guest teacher for renowned teacher Prudence Bowen. Dianne has received many accolades for teaching and choreographing, having staged many full length and short ballets & was co-‐ Artistic Director/choreographer for Bellder Ballet Theatre. She has choreographed solos, duos, groups for International, National, State and local competitions.

Dianne has danced lead & solo roles in many well-‐ known Ballets, Musicals, Trade Shows, Cabaret, Theatre, Commercial dance and Circus, and has worked extensively in Television. She was a founding teacher and teacher trainer for Les Mills World of Fitness. Many of Dianne’s former students have gone on to careers in ballet companies, contemporary dance, musical theatre, commercial dance, cruise ships, teaching, choreographing and dance related fields.

Dianne has travelled extensively to observe and further her knowledge in dance & has been a guest of the Vaganova Academy of Classical Ballet in St Petersburg Russia, American Ballet Theatre, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre (JKO) New York & Youth America Grand Prix New York, The Australian Ballet. She has observed classes & performances in Germany (Dresden Semperoper), Prague National Ballet, London (Royal Ballet & RAD Genee), West End Musicals London, and numerous shows on Broadway New York.

Dianne is thrilled to be invited to Adjudicate the Christchurch Competitions as she has many wonderful memories of being a competitor herself from the age of 5 when the competitions were held in the Civic Theatre. Her life-‐ long love of the art of ballet and dance continues as guest teacher and adjudicator.
