The scribes and Pharisees lived
according to the letter of the law
and they used this to elevate
themselves above the other
people.
Jesus is clear – it’s the love that
you have in your heart that will
get you to heaven. Simply
following church rules out of
obligation, not love, does not put
you on the path to heaven.
Attending Mass on Sunday and
then gossiping about a fellow
parishioner on the in the car park
lot is an example of a modern day
Pharisee.
ANNUAL CLERGY-LAITY GOLF DAY
The Annual Clergy-Laity Golf Day at Adelaide Shores Patawalonga Golf Course on Monday 27 March will commence with a 12.30pm shotgun start. Attractive prizes for men and women. The John Mahoney Parish Trophy will be awarded to the Parish with the best three Stableford scores. Cost is $40 (discount for clergy and pensioners). Entries close on Friday 17 March. PARISH FAMILY MASSES
In our Parish, one Mass on the first weekend of each month
(except in school holidays) is a ‘Family Mass’.
Family Masses are an opportunity for primary school aged
children to participate more fully in Parish Masses.

This event is for ages 18-35 Cathedral Parish Scripture Study Program The program for 2017 commences with a study of the second Letter to the Corinthians in which St Paul continues to promote unity in a divided and confused Corinth by reflecting on his own weaknesses as an opportunity to find strength in Christ. The 7 sessions (13, 20, 27 February, 6, 20, 27 March, 3 April, 2017) are between 7.30pm and 9.30 pm on Mondays in the Cathedral Hall. This is a “stand alone” course; participants do not need to have completed first Corinthians. We invite you to make any donation that is possible to support this Adult Faith Formation program. To help you discern your contribution, we offer you two levels of payment to consider - full cost $25, subsidised cost $15. For those who already have the commentary the full cost is $12.
