    Physical Appearance

This is a compilation of almost all the words we could think have used to

describe physical appearance: After studying it you should be able to

make good descriptions of people. Making descriptions in Spanish is very

    similar to English: EG

He has + (adjective) + (noun)

    He is + adjective.

    Examples

    He has blue eyes

    He is bald

There are many types of ecosystems on earth. Major classes of relatively contained ecosystems are called Biomes. There are 3 Major classes of ecosystems1. Freshwater Ecosystems2. Terrestrial Ecosystems3. Ocean Ecosystems

    Chain Food

Every living plant and animal must have energy to survive. Plants rely on the

soil, water, and the sun for energy. Animals rely on plants as well as other

    animals for energy.

In an ecosystem, plants and animals all rely on each other to live. Scientists

sometimes describe this dependence using a food chain or a food web.

    Food Chain

A food chain describes how different organisms eat each other, starting out

with a plant and ending with an animal. For example, you could write the

food chain for a lion like this:

    grass ---> zebra ---> lion

The lion eats the zebra, which eats the grass. Here is another example

    in picture form:

The grasshopper eats grass, the frog eats the grasshopper, the snake eats

the frog, and the eagle eats the snake.

    Trophic Levels

Sometimes scientists describe each level in a food web with a trophic level.

Here are the five trophic levels:

Level 1: Plants (producers) Level 2: Animals that eat plants or herbivores (primary consumers) Level 3: Animals that eat herbivores (secondary consumers,

    carnivores)

Level 4: Animals that eat carnivores (tertiary consumers, carnivores) Level 5: Animals at the top of the food chain are called apex

    predators. Nothing eats these animals.

    Water Cycle

The water cycle is a way that water

moves all around the Earth. It never stops

and doesn't really have a beginning or an

    end.

    It's like a big circle.

We'll describe it by starting with water

    that's on land.

    Oxygen Cycle

Oxygen is constantly being used and created

by different processes on planet Earth.

All of these processes together make up theoxygen cycle.

It is a country occupying most

    of northern North America,

    extending from the Atlantic

Ocean in the east to the

    Pacific Ocean in the west

    and northward into the Arctic

    Ocean.

It is the world's second largest

    Canada's common border

in the late 15th century, British and French expeditions explored, and later

    settled, along the Atlantic coast.

The name Canada comes from the St. Lawrence Iroquoian word kanata,

meaning "village" or "settlement". In 1535, indigenous inhabitants of thepresent-day Quebec City region used the word to direct French

explorerJacques Cartierto the village of Stadacona.

Cartier later used the wordCanada to refer not only to that particular

    village, but the entire area subject to Donnacona (the chief at Stadacona);

by 1545, European books and maps had begun referring to this region

    as Canada.

A federation consisting of ten provinces and three territories, Canada is

governed as a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy

with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It is a bilingual nation with both

English and French as official languages at the federal level.

    MATH

    Tangram

The tangram (seven boards of skill)

is a dissection puzzle consisting ofseven flat shapes, called tans,

which are put together to form

    shapes.

The objective of the puzzle is to

form a specific shape (given only

an outline or silhouette) using all

    seven pieces, which may not

    overlap.

It was originally inventedin China during the Song

    Dynasty, and then carried over

to Europe by trading ships in the

    early 19th century.

It became very popular in Europe for a time then and then again

    during World War I.

It is one of the most populardissection puzzles in the world.

In China, the game was designed to evaluate a person's intelligence, alongwith the ancient gamejiulianhuan or nine linked rings.
