Mission Statement: Our Mission at the Julia Landon College Preparatory and Leadership Development School is to create college bound students with a deep commitment to public service and a true understanding of their leadership skills within the global community.

Course Overview:Students will:

Review Prime Factorization to find LCM and GCF Learn Order of Operations including exponents Find angle measurements of polygons including angel/side relationships Calculate area, perimeter and circumference Compare and order fraction, decimals and percents Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide Fractions and Decimals Convert fractions to decimals and percent Solve for variables Use patterns to solve equations Find central tendency Develop understanding of probability Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide integers Use ratios and proportions to solve word problems

Successful completion of this course is based on student organization, class work, and test performance.

Homework/Late Work Policy: All homework MUST be done in PENCIL. Students must show their work to receive full credit.

Late homework may be turned in one day late for 50% credit. Late Projects will be accepted with a letter grade reduction per day.

Make-up Work Policy: Students have one day for each day absent to make up work.

Grade Recovery Policy: Students will be offered grade recovery as outlined in theDuval County Pupil Progression Plan found on the Duval County Public Schools web page.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be held during 6th period. Contact guidance to schedule a conference.

Grading Scale: Students will be evaluated in accordance with the standard Duval County Public Schools’ grading scale.

Progress Reports: In addition to report cards issued at the end of each quarter, students will receive progress reports on September 8 and 29, November 7, December 5, February 9, March 3, April 22, and May 13. Students earning a grade of “D” or “F” on a progress report will be required to return the progress report signed by the parent/guardian within two days.
