Water Environment Association of South Carolina | District Three | VOL. 28, Number 5 | November 2015
Chair’s ColumnFall is in the air and the cooler weather is approaching. The holidays are just around the corner! Final preparations are being made for the Operators Conference in late October, Family Night in mid-November, Capital District’s January meeting in Lexington and the SCEC in March. It’s a busy time of year!!
On September 2nd, the Capital District held its annual golf tournament at Cobblestone in Blythewood. Twenty-three teams took to the course with beautiful weather, great company and good food. The tournament was organized by Phillip Dieckmann and a small committee who put forth great effort to bring this event to spectacular heights. On September 3rd, the Mid-Year meeting at Pine Island
was attended by a record number of 215 members who had the opportunity to enjoy an outstanding program by some truly gifted speakers. The program was put together by a small committee chaired by Guy Schmoltze. Once again, the time and effort truly paid off. Later that evening the Capital District held its business meeting after a meal catered by Shealy’s, consisting of bar-b-que and all the sides. The meeting and meal had 205 registered members. A huge thank you goes out to all of our sponsors who stepped up to the plate for these functions. You are an awesome group of people who provide this organization with the staples needed to maintain the quality of service we deliver to each member.
Thank you as well to all the volunteers for these functions. Your willingness to give of yourselves as you do speaks volumes about your character.
a registration form for Family Night on Friday, November 13th. I want to encourage all of you to attend. Also, do not forget to register for the Operators Conference in Myrtle Beach later this month. I hope to see you all there.
