The 500-acre Grande Lakes Orlando resort features the newly renovated 582-room Ritz-Carlton Orlando situated at the headwaters of the Florida Everglades. This year has been like no other and your health and safety is paramount. The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes is committed to providing guests with a clean environment that aligns with expert protocols aligned with CDC, Florida, and Orlando guidelines in place at the time of the convention.

DCA has made some changes to the planning and delivery of the DCA Annual Convention. The convention is one day shorter, and we plan to take advantage of the extensive amount of hotel function space and spacious grounds. Indoor sessions will be set using appropriate distancing.

DCA is pleased to partner with the Ritz Carlton, part of the Marriott International’s luxury portfolio of brands family of hotels & resorts. The Marriott has a longstanding commitment to cleanliness and safety for its employees and guests. The Hotel will continue this commitment during the public health issues. The Marriott’s program – exceeding health expectations, assuring overall wellbeing of guests and colleagues, and providing a transparent look at the most up-to-date expert-led safety and cleanliness protocols. The Ritz-Carlton Accommodation RatesSingle/double: $179 per night (contact hotel directly for availability of suite accommodations and rates.)

The guest room rates are quoted exclusive of any applicable tax/levies which are currently 12.5% sales and occupancy tax. (subject to change without notice). Group rates will be offered 3 days prior to and 3 days following the dates of the room block, based on availability. A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to book each reservation. Should a guest cancel a reservation, the deposit will be refunded if notice is received at least 14 days prior to arrival and a cancellation number is obtained.

Resort Fee: $20.00 plus sales and occupancy taxes per room per night.

The DCA Golf Tournament is ON! The Central Florida landscape provided inspiration to legendary golf course designer Greg Norman, who worked with nature to create challenging greens, wide fairways, and hazards. The 18-hole championship course is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and tests the abilities of every skill level. Most recently the course was the site for the PNC Championship where Tiger Woods played in a weekend golf tournament with his 11-year-old son Charlie.

The DCA Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Friday July 30th. Fee includes tournament play, shared cart, boxed lunch, and beverages on the course.

Jon Dorenbos

One of the most popular and entertaining presenters in DCA’s history, Jon Dorenbos is back! Jon’s past has made him the man he is today when at the age of 12 Jon’s dad murdered his mother. Jon recently became a father for the first time when his wife, Annalise, gave birth to Amaya Love Dorenbos. Two weeks before her birth, it was time for his life to go full circle. Jon met with his father after 27 years. Through his life experiences, Jon learned the power of forgiveness - the idea of positive thinking and intentional living changed his life and led him on a path to happiness.

On his life journey, Jon learned magic and is considered a master magician. He inspires others by sharing his life experiences and NFL stories, relating to both one’s personal life as well and corporate culture. He discusses the importance of teamwork, perseverance, forgiveness, and the acceptance of failure in achieving a common goal. In his words, “Those who accept failure rise above it.”

This morning, DCA will team up to give back to the local community in a Build-a-Bike activity.

Teams, made up of new and old buddies, will be participate in this fun and challenging event. Teams will have the opportunity to compete in “Bicycle Trivia” to earn the bike pieces and tools to build the bike. Various interactive challenges will take place throughout the morning such personal notes of encouragement, a bike parade, decorative bike license plates, or even a bike race! At the conclusion of the event, all the bikes will be donated to a local charity to be given to children in the Orlando area.

This will be extraordinarily fun for all ages.

Homecoming is the tradition of coming back together and celebrating an organization’s existence. It is one of the most anticipated nights during our high school and college days. Meeting up with old friends, participating in on-field festivities such as a parade, marching band, tailgate parties and the coronation of a homecoming King & Queen all make for a very special event.

This evening, DCA will celebrate our 60th anniversary, in the spirit of a traditional homecoming and the opportunity of being together again!

The evening will start with a Pre-Auction Dinner Buffet allowing time to view silent and live auction items on display.

When the live auction begins, be prepared to hold your paddle high and often before the gavel goes down on your favorite or much needed auction item. It is a fun and fast paced event which includes on-line bidding for the silent auction items. DCA kids will also get in on the action with a selection of items just for them.

Funds raised will go to scholarships, workforce development, and other DCA activities.

Looking for something a bit different to do on this evening? Play a short round of nine holes of golf with family or friends. After play, enjoy a cold brew or glass of wine at the Bunker Bar with grilled hamburgers and dogs in a relaxed environment and watching the sun set in the western sky.
