Your Thoughts Dinosaurs are one of the great mysteries of

the world or are they? Dinosaurs grab our attention by their size and how ferocious they seem. Dinosaurs spark many great questions. When did these animals live? Did humans and dinosaurs live together? Are dinosaurs found in the Bible? Where did these animals come from and then disappear to? Evolutionary scientist’s theory is that dinosaurs evolved around 235 million years ago, long before humans were alive on the earth. They say these animals ruled the earth and then became extinct sixty-five million years ago due to some catastrophic event that happened on the earth. Is this really what happened? As a Christian, we must be careful when we study the Bible and search for answers to our questions. We must not take man’s word (scientific theories) to interpret God’s Word by. This makes man’s word the authority over God’s. We must let God’s Word be the authority. Then we should take the truths taught and see what present evidences we see today to confirm this truth. The evidence today confirms the Genesis account of creation.

6How do Dinosaurs Fit into the Bible?

THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN

Realize That God Loves You. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory to God.” (Romans 3:23).

God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The Good News Is That Christ Paid for Our Sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

We Must Personally Pray and Receive Christ by Faith as Our Personal Saviour. The Bible Says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

Dinosaurs Created by God Where did dinosaurs come from and when did they begin to roam the earth? Read Genesis 1:20-25. The Bible clears up the mystery about these animals. God created dinosaurs on day six of creation. Genesis 1:25 says, “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” Dinosaurs were created along with every other land-dwelling animal on earth. These animals were created by “kinds”. This means they were created to reproduce within the boundaries of like kinds. There are roughly 600 named species of dinosaurs but when dealing with kinds there are only about fifty kinds of dinosaurs.

What were these animals like at this point on earth? We tend to think like the movie Jurassic Park, with the ferocious beasts killing and destroying. This is an incorrect picture of these animals painted in our minds. The Bible tells us exactly how these animals

behaved. In Genesis 1:26-28, God gave man dominion over the dinosaurs. This means man had power and control over these animals just like all the others. Adam gives names to the dinosaurs in Genesis 2:19. The dinosaurs lived peacefully on earth with Adam and Eve. These animals had a vegetarian diet at first in Genesis 1:30. Job, who lived somewhere between Adam and Moses, writes about what he saw living with dinosaurs. Read Job 40:15-24. Job gives Behemoth’s physical description and also its eating and sleeping

Read Genesis 3:14-19. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sin entered into the world. The curse brought about sin, suffering, and death. Blood is now shed. Animals would have begun killing each other. Read Genesis 6:5-13. The earth is filled with violence and God judges the world by a world-wide flood. The dinosaurs went into the ark along with the other animals in Genesis 6:19-21. How could all those giant ferocious dinosaurs fit into the ark? There were only about fifty kinds that went into the ark and the average size of a dinosaur is the size of a sheep. It would have been likely that young adults would have gone on to the ark rather than full grown older adults so they could easily reproduce. Could the dinosaurs fit on the ark? Yes, with no difficulty at all. Off the ark the animals are introduced to a completely different environment. Read Genesis 9:1-7. Animals now fear humans and humans now eat their flesh. Dinosaurs went extinct just like many other animals have today due to competition with other species, changed environment, lack of food, disease, and human hunting.
