“The Lord is in his Holy Temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him” (Hab 2:20).

Until 1969, the various Catholic liturgies were all of apostolic origin.

The Gregorian Latin liturgy, celebrated in this church, follows the tradition of Saint Peter, the first Pope, and has never undergone any essential change till the present time.

Every gesture, every word has been weighed and measured with the assistance of the Holy Ghost for the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls.

We thank you for coming. Whether you are just visiting us for a brief time, looking for a spiritual home, are returning to the practice of Catholic faith or are interested in finding out more about the Catholic Church; we are hap-py to have you here, as you are. Please take time to read this bulletin, to meet with the priest after Mass and to socialize. Enter the Holy Temple of the Good Lord to worship Him. Pax vobis! Peace be with you!

“Let the charity of the brotherhood abide in you and hospitality do not forget; for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels.” HEB. 13:1-2

“Wherefore receive one another, as Christ also hath received you unto the honor of God.” ROM. 15:7

To receive Holy Communion: - One must be a baptized Catholic, having made a good confession since the last commit-ted mortal sin - if any - in order to be in the state of Grace. - One must believe in the doctrine of Transub-stantiation. “For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon him-self.” (1 Cor. 11:29) - One must observe one hour of Eucharistic fast (Water and medicine do not break the fast. Howev-er, we advise to abstain from food and alcohol for three hours and one hour for other liquid before Holy Com-munion). - One must not be a public sinner (public adul-terer, concubine, public homosexual), excommunicat-ed, or interdicted. - The most important requirement is to have

a great desire to receive the Body, the Blood, the Soul and the Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. You may humbly approach the Communion rail at any time after the Communion of the priest. Open the mouth wide and extend your tongue smoothly and horizontally. Do not say “Amen.” One should feel free to leave the pew for com-munion whenever. Do not judge your neighbor who abstains from receiving Holy Communion, as there is no obli-gation to receive it daily. However, “Live in a manner to be able to receive communion every day!” (St. Augustine) N.B.: In this Church, the faculty to absolve sins is directly granted to the priests by the Holy Father.

Out of respect for Our Lord Jesus Christ and for the edification of our neighbor, we beg all to appear in Church decent in deportment and modest in dress. However, no one has the right to question oth-ers, especially visitors. It belongs to the parish priest alone to instruct the laity when they re-peatedly dress or deport below expectation. For gentlemen and lads: Neither shorts, T-

shirts nor sneakers meet the norms of modesty. For ladies and girls: Neither shorts, slacks, sleeveless, short nor low-cut dresses meet the norms of modesty. Furthermore, according to apostolic custom or Church law, gentlemen are bareheaded in church; and ladies are requested to cover their heads.

Thank you for your charity.

St. Ambrose: Concerning Repentance, Book I, Chapter 17 That gentleness must be added to severity, as is shown in the case of St. Paul at Corinth. The man had been baptized, though the Novatians argue against it. And by the word “destruction” is not meant annihilation but severe chastening. 96. And what more suitable example can we take than one from our common mother? For the earth it-self, from which we are all taken, when it is not worked and cultivated, seems to be desert; and the field dies to the vines or olive-trees with which it was planted, and yet it does not lose its own nutritive power, which is, as it were, its life. And then later, when cultivation begins once more, and the seed is sown for which the land seems suitable, it breaks forth again more fruitful than before with its products. It is not, then, anything so strange if our flesh is said to die, and yet is understood to be subdued rather than anni-hilated.

Book II, Chapter 1 St. Ambrose gives additional rules concerning repentance, and shows that it must not be de-layed. 1. Although in the former book we have written many things which may tend to the more perfect prac-tice of repentance, yet inasmuch as a great deal more may be added, we will continue the repast so as not to seem to have relinquished the provisions of our teaching only half consumed. 2. For repentance must be taken in hand not only anxiously, but also quickly, lest perchance that father of the house in the Gospelwho planted a fig-tree in his vineyard should come and seek fruit on it, and finding none, say to the vine-dresser: “Cut it down, why does it cumber the ground?” Luke 13:7 And un-less the vine-dresser should intercede and say: “Lord, let it alone this year also, until I dig about it and dung it, and if it bear fruit — well; but if not let it be cut down.” Luke 13:8-9 3. Let us then dung this field which we possess, and imitate those hard-working farmers, who are not ashamed to satiate the land with rich dung and to scatter the grimy ashes over the field, that they may gather more abundant crops. 4. And the Apostle teaches us how to dung it, saying: “I count all things but dung, that I may gain Christ,” Philippians 3:8 and he, through evil report and good report, attained to pleasing Christ. For he had read that Abraham, when confessing himself to be but dust and ashes, Genesis 18:27 in his deep hu-mility found favour with God. He had read how Job, sitting among the ashes, Job 2:8regained all that he had lost. Job 42:10 He had heard in the utterance of David, how God “raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill.”
