Introduction

The Vitranc Cup has been present in Slovenia since 1961. Throughout all those years, its organization has been developing concurrently with the development of alpine skiing

and competitions’ safety requirements, we have been gathering experience and know-how, and today the Vitranc Cup is one of the largest, best organized and one of the best

visited traditional sport events in Slovenia and in central Europe. Most merit for that shall be attributed to the diligent, hard-working and persistent inhabitants of Kranjska Gora and the neighbouring villages, who still co-create this top skiing event by their

volunteer work, as well as to the Vitranc Cup Organizing Committee. Because of that, the Vitranc Cup is deeply anchored in the FIS calendar also in the future.

This year, the organizers will yet again try to organize an event that will justify its reputation as an event that combines sports and entertainment. For three days, the

best slalom and giant-slalom skiers will compete on the slope in Podkoren and fight for the best placements, because Kranjska Gora will this year also host the cancelled giant-

slalom from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The competition weekend will be enhanced by a rich accompanying program, both at the competition venue, as well as in the very center of Kranjska Gora. On Friday evening after the giant-slalom, the Vitranc hall will host the

popular musical Mamma Mia, whereas on Saturday evening the visitors of Kranjska Gora and the Vitranc Cup will be able to have fun at the "Q-Max Party."

However, the Vitranc Cup is not merely sports and entertainment. The best world’s skiers bring to Kranjska Gora also the political and business elite on the local, national

and international level. In three days, people from different walks of life, areas and business activities will share their admiration and enjoy in the skiers’ performance,

competitive fighting spirit, persistence and discipline, i.e. virtues which today represent a pre-requisite for any area of our lives.

The Vitranc Cup will be as exciting as the first time!

Attachment ON-COURSE PHOTOGRAPHER RULES AND REGULATIONS

Following are the rules and regulations that any photographer receiving an on-course

Photography accreditation/permission must follow relative to his/her conduct on the race

course. These rules and regulations must be read and the form must be signed, by witch the

undersigned certifies that He/she understood them and will comply with and respect them. A

breach of any of the provisions will result in withdrawal of accreditation and authorization for

access to the race course. The competition jury may also issue a sanction according to the FIS

International Competition Rules (ICR), Article 223.

All armbands/bibs/authorizations for the on-course photographers will be issued upon the

media registration in the Accreditation Office. The number of photographers allowed on-course

is determined by the FIS Race Director. This number has been set at a maximum of 40

photographers but may be changed due to special circumstances. Please note that according to

the Article 14.1 of the FIS World Cup Rules, “access to the race course is only possible when

specially allowed by the Chief Race Director of FIS after clear agreement with the Organizers.”

These rules have been established to help ensure safety for everyone on the race course and

to provide the best working conditions for all parties.

On-course Photo Rules

Any photographer granted the access to the course MUST BE AN EXPERT SKIER AND HAVE

CRAMPONS.

1) In order to gain access to the race course, photographers must display both their event

media accreditation and the on-course photographer armband/bib/permission. Please make

sure that both are clearly visible to course security personnel.

2) All on-course photographers MUST be on their positions ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE START

OF THE FIRST FORERUNNER. When accessing their photographing positions, photographers

should slip down close to the security fence, NEVER BETWEEN THE GATES.

3) Prior to the start of a competition, a member of the jury or a person officially charged with

the task will make a final inspection slip to ensure that all photographers are in appropriate

positions, which are safe also in the event of a potential fall of a competitor. If a jury member

or a race official instructs a photographer to move from his/her initial position, the

photographer must comply immediately.

4) All skis, backpacks and other gear not utilized for shooting must be stored behind the safety

fences, away from any potential spill zone. Skis should be placed flat on the snow.

5) NO MONOPODS OR TRIPODS ARE ALLOWED ON-COURSE.

6) Photographers must stay in their selected positions until the conclusion of the race.

Moving to different positions is not allowed during the race. Photographers may leave their

position only if special instructions by the jury or race officials have been given.

7) Photographers should be mindful of the sponsors’ banners that are positioned on the

course, never stand in front of the banners so as to block their exposure to television.

8.) Photographers MUST obey instructions received from a member of the jury. Any requests

to move or alter their photo position MUST BE OBEYED IMMEDIATELY.

REFUSAL TO ADHERE TO THE ABOVE RULES WILL RESULT IN THE

CONFISCATION OF THE EVENT MEDIA ACCREDITAION AND ON-COURSE

ARMBAND/BIB/PERMMSSION, AS WELL AS POSSIBLE SANCTIONS BY the Vitranc Cup OC and

FIS.
