Before you begin to crochet check your gaugeby making a test swatch and adjusting hooksize, if necessary, to obtain the gauge quotedin the pattern. Inaccurate gauge results in anitem too large or too small. Even a variation ofhalf a stitch makes an obvious difference in thefinished size.
