    TODAYS GENERALS STARTERRHP Victor Sanchez | RHP | #482 GS - 0-0, 5.40 ERA

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-0, 255 Born: 1/30/95 (19) in Rio Chico, VZRESIDES: Paez, Miranda, VZ College: N/AOBTAINED: Signed as a non-drafted free agent on July 12, 2011

Tonights Start: 19-year-old Victor Sanchezmakes his 3rd start of the season and rst since coming offhe disabled list. This is his 38th career start and he is the 2nd-youngest starting pitcher in franchise history19.1), (1st, Carlos Zambrano, 2000, 18.8).

vs. Tennessee: This is his rst career start against the Smokies.

Last Outing:...He allowed 4 runs, all earned on 6 hits hits over 5.0 innings on 4/13 vs Mississippi, taking a no decision. Sanchez struck out 2 and walked jushe no decision.

PERSONAL:... Victor David Sanchez Ranked as the No. 7 prospect, according to Baseball America for the Mariners going into the 2014. Signed for a reported

ut of Venezuela in July of 2011, the Mariners took the somewhat unusual move of starting him in Short Season Everett without any complex experience despieing one of the youngest players in stateside organized ball in 2012.

When Sanchez was 13 in 2008, he was the second-youngest player on Venezuelas 14U COPABE Pan American championship team, a roster that included rs second baseman Rougned Odor and Blue Jays righthander Adonys Cardona. Sanchez provided one of the highlights of the tournament, throwing a ve-o-hitter against Ecuador and missing a perfect game by a hit batsman.

SCOUTING REPORT:... Sanchez fastball is generally in the 90-91 range, but he can dial it up to 95 at times. As a general rule he pitches down with that offnd it has some nice heavy action at times. He also uses it up in the zone to get swings-and-misses when needed. His second best offering is the changeup,

s already a plus offering for him. He delivers the pitch with great velocity separation, deception and late fade, and it, too, has swing-and-miss value. He also m curve and slider, but neither are anything special currently. Right now Sanchez relies heavily on location and the fastball/changeup mix, but hell need to re

east one of the breaking balls. The big right-hander has allowed only nine home runs in his 198 1/3 pro innings going into 2014, constantly pounding the lowef the zone and getting a lot of weak contact.

014 Season:...Sanchez made his rst Jackson start on 4/6@CHA at the age of 19 years 2 months and 7 days. Sanchez is the 2nd-youngest playmake a start for Jackson. First, Carlos Zambrano in 2000 at 18 years, 8 months, 9 days. Taijuan Walker is 3rd and was 19 years, 7 months and 27when he made his rst start on April 9, 2012.

Placed on 7-day DL on 4/16 with right forearm tightness...he was activated from the DL on 5/11

013 Season:...Made 20 starts with Clintonranked 2nd in the Midwest League in ERA (2.78) and T2nd in WHIP (1.09), while also ranking amongst the letarters in fewest baserunners per 9.0 innings (2nd/10.24) and in fewest walks per 9.0 innings (3rd/1.43)tossed a 9.0-inning no-hitter in 27th professionan July 17 vs. Lansing (9.0,0,0,0,0,8,HB).

MORE ON NO HITTER:... The nine-inning no-hitter on July 17, 2013 in his 27th professional start as Class A Clinton blanked visiting Lansing, 1-0. What maerformance even more memorable for Sanchez was that his mother had own in from Caguas, Venezuela to watch what turned out to be his historic effort. he second time shes seen him pitch on American soil and the rst time in 2013. After plunking Dalton Pompey, the second hitter of the game, the 18-year-oldander retired 20 consecutive Lugnuts. A pair of errors by Clinton shortstop Ketel Marte in the eighth inning put the potential tying run on third base, but San2-4) set down the nal four batters to wrap up his gem. It was the 22nd no-hitter in the 77-year history of Clinton baseball and the seventh nine-inning gem. Cackson pitcher Jordan Shiperswent the distance in the LumberKings last no-hitter on July 11, 2012.

012 Season: Made 15 starts with Everettlimited opponents to a .223 (69x310) averagenished 2nd in Northwest League in innings pitched, while also raT2nd in strikeouts and 9th in ERArecorded rst career win on June 15 at Tri-City (6.0,2,1,1,2,4,2HB)struck out season-high 8 batters on June 26 vs. Vanc6.0,5,1,1,2,8) and July 28 vs. Vancouver (6.0,6,5,3,0,8)participated in the Mariners Instructional League
