BULLETIN CO-CURRICULAR NEWS Dear College Community, A full complement of teams were able to hit the pitches and courts over the weekend as we were finally treated with some marvellous spring weather. Whilst this week was dominated by the proceeding’s surrounding the year 12’s completing the last of their formal lessons it also marked the end of co-curricular involvement for a number of our year 12 students as they now turn their attention to revision for final exams. I would like to thank the boys and their families for their commitment to Rostrevor’s sporting programs and wish them every success as they pursue their own sporting goals in the wider community. 1st XI Cricket PAC 5/201 from 45 overs (Patrick Shrestha 3/28, Dylan Smith 1/29) defeated Rostrevor College 92 all out in 28 overs (Dylan Fitzsimons 21, Harrison Rahaley 19 and P Shrestha 19) PAC won the toss and elected to bat on a very good wicket. Our opening bowlers of Patrick Shrestha and Dylan Smith bowled well with the new ball to have PAC 3/20 at one stage, however a 120 run partnership for the 3rd wicket and some big hitting towards the end of the innings allowed PAC to reach 201 from their allotted 45 overs. Our bowlers toiled manfully and it was pleasing to see Cale Elefsen in his debut 1st XI game bowl 7 economical overs. In reply, the wickets fell regularly and aside from a partnership of 36 between Harrison Rahaley and Dylan Fitzsimons, we struggled to gain any momentum. Scott Hammat, also playing his first game, showed enough to suggest that he will be a solid contributor in the future. In other Co-curricular News: • Year 11 cricketer David Hamaan has continued to impress with back to back performances in 2nd XI cricket. He finished the first match of the term with a return of 4 wickets and backed it up with 5 wickets on Saturday aſternoon against Mercedes College 1st XI. • The 9A cricket team enjoyed a strong victory over Pembroke last weekend with the opening partnership of Kyle Brazell and Christian Leddicoat setting the scene with some great batting. Kyle knocked around a very impressive 60 runs and Sam Rahaley came in at number 4 to see out the overs finishing on 40no. If your son, be he a current or past scholar, has made any significant achievement in an activity outside of the College, please pass this on to me via email to jfischer@rostrevor. sa.edu.au or by phone, so that I can include his achievements in the weekly newsletter. INCO-CURRICULAR NEWS Dear College Community,

A full complement of teams were able to hit the pitches and courts over the weekend as we were finally treated with some marvellous spring weather.

1st XI Cricket

PAC 5/201 from 45 overs (Patrick Shrestha 3/28, Dylan Smith 1/29) defeated Rostrevor College 92 all out in 28 overs (Dylan Fitzsimons 21, Harrison Rahaley 19 and P Shrestha 19)

PAC won the toss and elected to bat on a very good wicket.

In other Co-curricular News:

• Year 11 cricketer David Hamaan has continued to impress with back to back performances in 2nd XI cricket. He finished the first match of the term with a return of 4 wickets and backed it up with 5 wickets on Saturday afternoon against Mercedes College 1st XI.

• The 9A cricket team enjoyed a strong victory over Pembroke last weekend with the opening partnership of Kyle Brazell and Christian Leddicoat setting the scene with some great batting. Dear College Community

“In August an External Validation team came to our College to lead the process of Edmund Rice Education’s School Renewal. It is a process which provides guidance on how our community is living out the charism of Edmund Rice and being faithful to the Touchstones of providing a liberating education, living out a gospel spirituality, being committed to being an inclusive community and looking beyond the walls our College and standing for justice and in solidarity with those at the margins. We received wonderful feedback on how our College lives these values out, with particular praise for our commitment to being an inclusive community. The School Renewal process will conclude with a special assembly on the 11th November during which the EREA Executive Director, Dr Wayne Tinsey will officially acknowledge our accreditation as a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition. You are all invited to this most important occasion.”

At this assembly we will also have the pleasure of introducing Mr Damian Messer, Acting Principal for 2017. Following the Assembly, Morning Tea will be provided at Rostrevor House and you are most welcome to attend.
