Exeter Elementary names April Character Kids
Mercy Hospital Cassville Se-nior Life Solutions is collab-orating with the Clark Cen-ter in hosting a Mind-Body Connection event on May 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Conference Room C located inside the Mercy Hospital Cassville. Screenings being offered: metabolic testing for the first 50 guests, blood pressure checks and emo-tional screenings. There will also be information as well as a door prize drawing for a gift certificate for a free mas-sage.
Refreshments will be served.
Mental health is essential to everyone’s overall health and well-being, and mental illnesses are common and treatable. Physical activity impacts everyone mentally. It’s important to pay atten-tion to both your physi-
cal health and your mental health which can help you achieve overall wellness and set you on a path to recov-ery.
This May is Mental Health Month. Mercy Hos-pital Cassville Senior Life Solutions program is raising awareness about the con-nection between physical health and mental health through the theme Fitness #4Mind4Body. The cam-paign is meant to educate and inform individuals about how eating healthy foods, gut health, managing stress, exercising and getting enough sleep can impact your overall health.
A healthy lifestyle can help to prevent the onset or worsening of mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, as well as heart disease, diabetes, obesity
and other chronic health problems. It can also play a big role in helping people recover from these condi-tions. Taking good care of your body is part of a before Stage Four approach to men-tal health.
Getting the appropriate amount of exercise can help control weight, improve mental health and help you live longer and healthier. Recent research is also con-necting your nutrition and gut health with your men-tal health. Sleep also plays a critical role in all aspects of our life and overall health. Getting a good night’s sleep is important to having enough physical and men-tal energy to take on daily responsibilities. Stress can also have a huge impact on all aspects of our health, so it’s important to take time
to focus on stress-reducing activities like meditation or yoga.
Senior Life Solutions is an intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the unique needs of older adults over the age of 65 struggling with depression and anxiety, often related to aging. Fam-ily members, physicians, or other health professionals can refer individuals to the program.
The Clark Commu-nity Mental Health Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center serving residents of Barry, Lawrence and Dade Coun-ties with their newest office located in Cassville.
