Cafeteria Refunds
If you are the parent of a student who will move to a different Humble ISD campus for the 2011-2012 school year, you may have questions about your child’s cafeteria account.
Any balance that is in the account at the end of this year will follow your student to his or her new campus. That money will be available for the student to use on the first day of school.
However, if your child will no longer be enrolled in an Humble ISD school, or you would like your money refunded, please contact Mr. Mark in the ESE Cafeteria and he will refund the remaining balance to you. You can receive your refund in person or by sending in a written request with
your child to Mr. Mark. THE LAST DATE TO RECEIVE YOUR REFUND IS MAY 31, 2011.
After that time, Mr. Mark will deposit all remaining cash and will be unable to make refunds. Any refund request after this date will have to be made to the Child Nutrition Office and a refund check will be mailed to you. The Child Nutri-tion Department wishes everyone a terrific summer and we look forward to serving all Humble ISD students in the fall!
Congratulations to Mr. DuFrene!!!!! 4th Grade Teacher, Silas DuFrene, was awarded a $4,316.87 fellowship/grant from the Fund for Teachers organization.
This organization awards grants to teachers who wish to pursue global opportunities that will impact the students they teach. This summer,
Mr. DuFrene will travel to England, France, and Poland retracing a World War II soldier’s journey from his engagement point in England to his final resting
place in Epinal, France. Afterwards, he will get to tour the Auschwitz Concentration Camp to demonstrate for students how and why soldiers valiantly serve our country. Awesome ~ have a GREAT trip Mr. DuFrene!
The 3rd Grade Teachers would like to give an EAGLE SHOUT OUT to all the 3rd grade
students for doing such an AWESOME job on their musical performance last week!
We are extremely PROUD of each of you!
We also want to say THANKS to Mr. Whorton and all the volunteers who put in countless hours practicing with our students and making amazing
backdrops for the show!
It was the BEST performance we have ever had ~ WAY TO GO! ~

Seven ESE artists received top honors at the State Elementary Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) in April. Student work is judged based on the Visual Arts TEKS and student answers to a set of questions based on the creative problem solving process the student used with their work. Seven works were
submitted from ESE and all seven students received GOLD MEDALS! A Gold Medal indicates that the work received an excellent rating. Of the seven Gold Medal Winners, five received the added designation “TOP OF THE TEAM”. This means the student scores placed them in the top 10% of the work for their grade level! Top of the Team award winners and Gold Medalists are: Erin M. (5th);
Neikko D. (4th); Ema L. (2nd); Carson P. (1st); and Maya M. (1st). Gold Medal winners included Brennen R. (5th); and Billy M. (4th).
We are VERY PROUD of these awesome young artists!
