INTRODUCTIONMore than a half of the world population lives nowadays in cities and for the year 2050 is expected that this population increase more than 75%, but in which type of cities we will live in the future?
It is said by the experts that “now is the moment” for start building smarter urban spaces. New cities should harbour a greater population and the cities that we live right now should be modernized.
WHAT IS IT A SMART CITY?
A developed urban area that creates sustainable economic development and high quality life by excelling in multiple key areas:• Economy. • Mobility. • Environment. • People. • Living. • Government.
Excelling in these key areas can be done so through strong human capital, social capital, and/or ICT infrastructure.
