DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY PROMISE
The message and devotion to Jesus as “ The Divine Mercy ”
based on the writings of Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nunwho, in obedience to her spiritual director, wrote a diary ofabout 600 pages, recording the revelations she received aboutGod’ s Mercy:
The Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist are special fountains of Mercy which should be received frequently with great trust and love (Diary, 914,1602). To emphasize theimportance of these two great “ miracles of mercy ” our Lomade their reception a condition for obtaining his promise onthe Feast of Divine Mercy Sunday. (The First Sunday afterEaster) “ The soul that will go to Confession and receive HolyCommunion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and
punishment. ” (Diary, 699)
