INTRODUCTION

Contents

1. This Digest of Statistics contains information on Civil Aircraft on Register for 67 Contracting States on 31 December 1997; those States reported these statistics to ICAO on Air Transport Reporting Form H (facsimile of which is reproduced on pages 4 and 5).

2. The number of aircraft is shown separately according to the user in whose name they are registered: "Commercial Air Transport Operators" and "Other Operators". In addition, aircraft under each user are divided into two sub-groups, according to the maximum permissible weight which is shown on the Certificate of Ainvorthiness, Flight Manual or other official document: "9 O00 kg (20 O00 Ib) and over and under 9 O00 kg (20 O00 Ib)".

3. Most of the reporting States supplied a separate list showing, for each entry under the heading "9 O00 kg (20 O00 Ib) and over", the number of aircraft by manufacturer and model in alphabeticallnumerical order. This list is shown in the lower part of the individual tables for each State.

FORM H - CIVIL AIRCRAFT ON REGISTER

REPORTING INSTRUCTIONS

FILING REQUIREMENTS

This Form is to be fded by ICAO Contracting States. It should report all civil aircraft on the national register of the State.

Form H is to be fded annuaiiy, reporting the aircraft on register as of 31 December of the year. It should be forwarded to ICAO not Later than 2 months after the end of the year to which it refers.

DEFINITIONS

Commercial Air Transport Operator Commercial Air Transport Operator means an operator performing scheduled or non- scheduled air transport services, available to the public for the carriage of passengers, mail or cargo for remuneration. This category also includes small-scale operators that provide commercial air transport services such as air-taxi operators.

Other Operators Other Operators refers to any person, public or private organization, or company operating aircraft, but not engaged in commercial air transport.

Aircraft Weight Aircraft weight refers to the maximum permissible take-off weight of the aircraft as shown on the Certificate of Airworthiness, Flight Manual or other official document.

PART I - SUMMARY OF ALL AIRCRAFT ON REGISTER

in this Part, the aircraft on register are to be reported in terms of the number that fall into each of the aircraft and operator categories. Report the total number of aircraft on register, separately for aircraft operated by commercial air transport operators of all types, and for aircraft of other operators, opposite the relevant category for fixed-wing or rotary-wing aircraft, according to the type of propulsion and the number of engines.

PART II - NUMBER OF LARGE AIRCRAFT BY TYPE

This Part is to be completed only for aircraft of 9 O00 kg or 20 O00 lb and over maximum certificated take-off weight. Report here the number of aircraft of each make and model (i.e. Boeing 707-100B, Douglas DC9-20, Fokker F-27, etc.) separately for aircraft of commercial air transport operators and for aircraft of other operators. All aircraft included in the figures reported in columns b and d of Part I above should be listed in Part II. If the space allotted is not sufficient to cover all the types of aircraft, complete this Part on a separate sheet.

AIRCRAFT TO BE REPORTED

Aircraft to be included in the statistics:

(a) all civil aircraft on the national register and holding a valid certificate of airworthi- cess on 31 December of the year being reported;

(b) aircraft on the national register without a valid certificate of airworthiness on 31 December but where it can be expected to have the certificate revalidated within a reasonable period of time.

Aircraft to be excluded from the statistics:

(a) aircraft on the national register not holding a valid certificate of airworthiness on 31 December and not expected to have it revalidated;

(b) gliders with auxiliary motors intended for sport or training purposes should also be omitted.

Note. registered aircraft which is prepared by the State and is conveniently available.

INTRODUCTION

Teneur du Recueil

1. Le prsent Recueil de statistiques contient des renseignements sur les aronefs civils immatriculs au 31 dcembre 1997 dans 67 Etats contractants; ces Etats ont fourni ces statistiques IOACI sur le Formulaire H du transport arien (reproduit aux pages 10 et 11).

2. Le nombre daronefs apparat sparment selon la catgorie de lexploitant au nom duquel ils sont immatriculs : ((Exploitants de transport arien commercial)) et ((Autres exploitants)). En outre, pour chaque exploitant, les aronefs sont rpartis en deux sous-groupes, selon le poids maximal autoris port sur le certificat de navigabilit, le manuel de vol ou tout autre document officiel : ((9 O00 kg (20 O00 Ib) et au-dessus)) et ((moins de 9 O00 kg (20 O00 lb).

3. La plupart des Etats qui ont communiqu des renseignements ont fourni une liste spare qui indiquait, pour chaque type daronef figurant sous la rubrique ((9 O00 kg (20 O00 Ib) et au-dessus)), le nombre daronefs par constructeur et par modle, dans lordre alphabtiquehumrique. Cette liste figure la partie infrieure des tableaux de chaque Etat.

INSTRUCTIONS

INDICATIONS A RESPECTER POUR LA COMMUNICATION DES RENSEIGNEMENTS

Le Formulaire H doit tre rempli et adress IOACI par chaque tat contractant. II doit rendre compte de tous les aronefs civils immatriculs par IEtat.

II doit tre rempli une fois par an de manire rendre compte des aronefs immatriculs au 31 dcembre de lanne considre et adress IOACI au plus tard deux mois aprs cette date.

DFINITIONS

Exploitant de transpofl arien commercial Un exploitant de transport arien commercial est un exploitant qui excute contre rmunration des vols rguliers ou non rguliers de transport public de passagers, de poste ou de fret. Cette catgorie comprend aussi les petites entreprises qui excutent des vols de transport commercial, comme les exploitants de taxis ariens.

Autres exploitants Par autres exploitants, il faut entendre toute personne physique ou morale qui exploite des aronefs mais ne fait pas de transport arien commercial.

Poids de laronef Par poids de laronef, il faut entendre le poids maximal autoris au dcollage port Sur le certificat de navigabilit, le manuel de vol ou tout autre document officiel.

lr8 PARTIE. - RELEVE SOMMAIRE DE TOUS LES ARONEFS IMMATRICULES

Dans cette Partie, indiquer le nombre daronefs immatriculs qui se rangent dans chaque catgorie daronefs et dans chaque catgorie dexploitants. Indiquer le nombre total daronefs immatriculs, ventil entre les exploitants de transport arien commercial et les autres exploitants, en regard de la catgorie qui convient - aronefs voilure fixe ou voilure tournante - et compte tenu du type de propulsion et du nombre de moteurs.

2e PARTIE. - NOMBRE DAERONEFS DE GROS TONNAGE, PAR TYPE

Cette partie ne doit comprendre que les aronefs dont le poids maximal autoris au dcollage est dau moins 9000 kg (20000 livres). Indiquer ici le nombre daronefs de chaque type et modle (cest--dire, Boeing 707-1 OOB, Douglas DC9-20, Fokker F-27, etc.) sparment pour les exploitants de transport arien commercial et pour les autres exploitants. Tous les aronefs compris dans les chiffres des colonnes b et d de la 1 re Partie ci-dessus doivent figurer dans la Ze Partie. Si la place rserve nest pas suffisante, utiliser une feuille supplmentaire de faon pouvoir inscrire tous les types daronefs.

ARONEFS A INDIQUER

Aronefs faire figurer dans les statistiques:

a) tous les aronefs immatriculs qui avaient un certificat de navigabilit en cours de validit le 31 dcembre de lanne sur laquelle portent les statistiques;

b) les aronefs immatriculs qui avaient un certificat de navigabilit dont la validit a expir avant le 31 dcembre mais qui sera vraisemblablement revalid dans un dlai raisonnable.

Aronefs exclure des statistiques:

a) les aronefs immatriculs qui avaient un certificat de navigabilit dont la validit a expir avant le 31 dcembre et qui ne sera vraisemblablement pas revalid;

b) les planeurs moteur auxiliaire destins au sport ou lentranement.

INTRODUCCIN

Contenido

1. Este compendio estadstico contiene la informacin relativa a las aeronaves civiles matriculadas en 67 Estados contratantes al 31 de diciembre de 1997, tal como lo notificaron a la OACI usando el Formulario H de informacin de transporte areo, cuyo modelo se reproduce en las pginas 16 y 17.

2. EI nmero de aeronaves se muestra por separado de acuerdo con el carcter del explotador a cuyo nombre estn matriculadas, a saber: "Explotadores de transporte areo comercial" y "Dems explotadores". Adems, las aeronaves bajo cada tipo de explotador se subdividen en dos grupos, de acuerdo con los pesos-mximos admisibles que figuran en el certificado de aeronavegabilidad, el manual de vuelo u otros documentos oficiales: "9 O00 kg (20 O00 Ib) o ms" y "menos de 9 O00 kg (20 OOOIb)."

3. La mayora de los Estados proporcionaron una lista por separado indicando, para cada partida bajo el encabezamiento "9 O00 kg (20 O00 Ib) o ms", el nmero de aeronaves, por fabricante y modelo, en orden alfabtico y numrico. Esta lista se acompaa en la parte inferior de la tabla individual de cada Estado.

DATOS SOBRE EL ENVIO DE ESTE FORMULARIO

Todos los Estados contratantes de la OACI deben completar este Formulario. En 61 deben indicarse todas las aeronaves civiles matriculadas en el Estado en cuestin.

E1 Formulario H debe enviarse anualmente, y debe incluir a todas las aeronaves que estn matriculadas hasta el 31 de diciembre dei ao. Debe enviarse a la OACI no ms de dos meses despus de la terminacin dei a o a que se refiere.

DEFINICIONES

Explotador de transporte areo comercial La expresin ?explotador de transporte areo comercial? se refiere al explotador que presta servicios de transporte areo regulares o no regulares, ofrecidos al pblico para el transporte de pasajeros, correo o carga, por remuneracin. Esta categora incluye tambin los explotadores de poca envergadura que proporcionan servicios de transporte areo comercial, tales como explotadores de taxis areos.

Dems explotadores La expresin ?dems explotadores? se refiere a toda persona, organizacin pblica o privada o compaa que explota aeronaves, pero que no se dedica al transporte areo comercial.

Peso de la aeronave Los pesos indicados se refieren a los pesos de despegue mximos admisibles de la aeronave, que figuran en el correspondiente certificado de aeronavegabilidad, manual de vuelo u otro documento oficial.

PARTE I - RESUMEN DE TODAS LAS AERONAVES MATRICULADAS

En esta Parte deben notificarse las aeronaves matriculadas en trminos del nmero que corresponda a cada una de las categoras de aeronaves y explotadores. Indqueme por separado las cantidades totales de aeronaves matriculadas con respecto a las aeronaves utilizadas por explotadores de transporte areo comercial de todos los tipos y con respecto a las aeronaves de los dems explotadores, frente a cada una de las categoras correspondientes a las aeronaves de alas fijas o de alas giratorias, segn el tipo de propulsin y el nmero de motores.
