President’sMessage:You’llreadlaterinthiseditionoftheDeuceaboutNationalAwardsuccessesbutIwanttousealittlespaceheretosayaverybigthankyoutoourcommitteemembers,volunteersandcoaches,whodosomuchfortheclubcommunity–and,toPaulaforherfantasticunderstandingandsupport.Theclubisingreatshapegoinginto2018,withgooddiversity,strongandgrowingmembership-16visitorscamealongonouropenday–andthepromiseofmoreimprovements.Weareclosetoreceivinganupdatedquotationforconversionofcourts2and3andinstallationofmodernLEDlighting,andintendtosubmitourapplicationtothecouncilbeforeChristmas.Let’senjoyour15minutesoffameandalltaketheopportunitytosendoutapositivemessageaboutwhatagreatclubweare.Andinconclusion,asweheadintosummer,Iwishyouaveryhappyholiday.

2018ClubChampionships
TheAdultclubchampionshipsareplannedtobeheldontheweekendsof7/8thand14/15thApril.Unlikepreviousyearsanddependingonthenumberofentrants,itislikelythematcheswillbeplayedonbothdaysofthefirsttwoweekendsandmatchesmaystartinthemorningtoensurethatfirmstarttimescanbegiventoallowpeopletoplantheirweekendand/orrecoverbetweenmatches.Asinpreviousyears,therewillbeopenchampionshipsandsocialchampionshipswiththelatterbeingonlyopentothosethatplayregularlyinSaturdayafternoonsocial.Therewillbesocialplaylaterinthetournament.
PennantsUpdate:Thefinalmatchesofthefirsthalfoftheseasonarebeingplayedtoday(Sunday11th).Wearehavingastrongseasonwithmostteamsinwithagoodshoutofmakingthefinals.WehavehadanumberofforfeitsforplayingineligibleplayersoroutofordersoifindoubtgiveIanacall!Tenniswesthavebeenhelpingusreorganisesomeofourteamssotherecanbeoptionstomakesurethateveryoneisallowedtoplay.Aseverymanythankstoallthecaptainswhokeepthisallorganised.Aquickteambyteamrundown:
