Rear Fender
Open a new part with model units set to
millimeters.
Go to: File > New > Part
Select the three planes in the feature tree
and make them visible by clicking on the
glasses.
Change the names of the planes
Double click on the Front Plane in the feature tree.
Change the name into: FRONTPLANE REAR FENDER
Double click on the Top Plane in the feature tree.
Change the name into: CENTERPLANE REAR FENDER
Double click on the Right Plane in the feature tree.
Change the name into: MIDPLANE REAR FENDER
Select the FRONTPLANE REAR FENDER andcreate a sketch by clicking on the 2D
sketch icon
Draw the sketch as shown in the picture.
Start with the vertical construction lineand circle.
Offset the vertical construction line
bi-directional by clicking on the offseticon.
Change into: 182 mm
Select the Bi-directional option
Click OK
Draw the sketch as show in the picture
and trim all the lines you dont need
Add all the dimensions and sketch relations

Select the CENTERPLANE REAR FENDER andcreate a new sketch
Draw a vertical construction line
starting at the origin.
Draw two circles and add the
dimensions as shown in the picture.
Create an extruded cut
Go to: Insert > Cut > Extrude
Direction 1 : Trough All
Ensure that the offset is directed to
above.
If not, click Reverse direction
Click OK

Create a radius on the corners of the fender
Select the four green corners as shown in the picture.
Go to: Insert > Features > Fillet/Round > 45 mm
Click OK
Create a surface fillet
Select the green surface as shown in the picture.
Go to: Insert > Features > Fillet/Round > 4 mm
Click OK

Create a shell on the green surface
Select the green surface as shown in the picture.
Go to: Insert > Features > Shell > 4 mm
Click OK
Create a new plane parallel at the CENTERPLANE REAR FENDER
Go to: Insert > Reference Geometry > Plane
Select the CENTERPLANE REAR FENDER as shown in the picture.
Change the Offset Distance into 400 mm.
Ensure that the offset is directed to above.
If not, click Reverse direction
Click OK

Save the file with the following name: Rear Fender
Insert a projected sketch
Go to: File > Open > Graphic Rear Fender.SLDPRT
(Or use 1 of the 35 tribal graphics)
Right click on Sketch1 in the feature tree and click on the
sketch icon.
Select the sketch and click: Edit > Copy
Go back to File > Open > Rear Fender.SLDPRT
Select Plane 1 and create a new sketch
Draw a vertical construction line starting at the origin
as shown in the picture.
Go to: Edit > Paste
Go to: Tools > Sketch Tools > Move
Select the imported sketch.
Start point : Select the yellow top point of the sketch
as shown in the left picture.
End point: Select the top point of the vertical
construction line as shown
in the right picture.
Click OK

Create an extruded cut
Go to: Insert > Cut > Extrude
Direction 1 : Offset From Surface
Change into 0,10 mm
Select the pink surface as shown in the picture.
Select the Reverse offset option.
Click OK
Change the color of the flames:
Select Extrude3 or the new face > Right click > Feature Properties > Color > Change
color > Select the color you like.
Click OK

Hide all planes and sketches except:
-
FRONTPLANE REAR FENDER
- CENTERPLANE REAR FENDER
- MIDPLANE REAR FENDER
Save the file again.
Congratulations, you just finished the Rear Fender!
