Phase 1: Tools & Notes on Installation

9/16” Crescent and/or Box Wrench

5/32” Allen Drive Socket or WrenchSocket & Ratchet Wrench

Vice Grips

Tools Required: This list is the recommended tools for ease of installation. Other versions of the same tool can be used. For example, Allen Wrenches instead of Allen Drive Sockets.

HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE: The installation guide contains ALL steps for installing your rear fenders and flares. Please read and follow the instructions in order of each page top to bottom.Images: Pictures are provided and parts are labeled throughout the instructions. Each text box contains guidance based on the pictures next to it. Remove the stock fender liner and rear fender flares from your jeep.

Phase 1: JEEP Preparation

Step 1: Remove Stock Fenders

Step 2: Align Base Plates and Clamp to Body

Alignment:Horizontal: measure ¾” from seam(A) at rear of tub and locate rear point of base plate here(B).Vertical: Align bottom of base plate with lowest part of jeep tub(C).

NOTE: The bottom edge of the jeep tub is rounded; take care to align with lowest point.

Once base plate is aligned properly, secure to your jeep with vice grips. Our images show work with raw metal, if your base plates have already been powder coated, place cloth between the clamp and plate

Clean all dirt/rust from your jeep body prior to installation of base plates.

Center punch(A) all holes prior to drilling

Phase 1: JEEP Preparation

Step 3: Drill Holes in Jeep Tub

Prior to drilling full-size holes, drill 1/8” marker holes for all holes on base plate. If your plates have been powder coated, be careful not to damage the coating A

If your plates have already been powder coated, it is highly recommended that you remove them from your jeep prior to drilling bolt holes for the plates.

This will prevent any chipping along the insides of the holes that could expose bare metal. If your parts are

still uncoated/unpainted, use the laser-cut plate holes as a drilling guide. After drilling holes, powdercoat/paint your base plates.

Drill the following holes in your tub:1/2” inch3/8” inch

Phase 2: Base Plate Mounting

Step 4: Bolt on Base Plate

NOTE: On holes marked ( ), place the washer on in inside of the tub. One holes marked ( ), place the washer on the outside of the base plate.

Insert 3/8” inch bolts and snug each before fully tightening.

Use 3/8” Button Head Screw with supplied washers in all 3/8” holes. Use the following hardware

3/8”x1.00” bolt, washer(inside), nylock nut 3/8”x1.25” bolt, washer(outside), backing plate

To mount flares properlyA. Align the flare housing with

the 3/8” Button Head Screws so that the screw head and washers(A) are both on the OUTSIDE of the housing (B)

B. Front and Rear Balls(C) will snap into place on mounting boss(D)

C. Finger tighten self centering screws into balls

D. Tighten flare housing boltsE. Tighten self centering screws

on each ball

NOTE:MetalCloak Rear Flares are

easily removable to provide you with the maximum clearance

during your offroading experience. Simply

following step 5 in reverse will safely remove your

flares in minutes.
