“Go to the village there ahead of you and at once you will find a donkey. Untie the donkey and bring it to me. If anyone says anything, tell him, “The master needs it and then he will let you go at once.”

This happened in order to make what the prophet had said come true, “Tell the city of Zion, look your king is coming to you! He is humble and rides on a donkey.”

The crowds preceding him and those following kept crying out and saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."

And when he entered Jerusalem the whole city was shaken and asked, "Who is this?“ And the crowds replied, "This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee."
